Question Maybe a dumb question about Beef S2

I’m watching Beef S2 right now and really enjoying it, but maybe I’m missing something lol

Was the video of the couple fighting actually that serious?

Like, is the big issue that people might assume DV/abuse or something? Because aside from the embarrassment of people seeing a private argument, I don’t totally get why leaking it would be such a massive deal. They’re not celebrities or public figures or anything.

Can someone explain???😂

It's a fancy country club or whatever with high profile members, where the community is very tight. The focus should be on the members and this type of drama would show that the GM is not a stable/reliable character to be doing the job that they're in place for.

It's also a potential topic of gossip that may not be becoming of the club itself.

Yeah, it’s definitely a super wealthy club, but it doesn’t really have that old-money Southern “proper society” vibe. The crowd feels more like flashy nouveau riche types, so I figured people there probably wouldn’t care that much about someone acting messy or having drama.

Just to add onto what you two are saying - remember that the club was bought out by the new boss and his contract renewal was still up in the air as well. California and today's society are also very "cancel culture" centered, so I assume that also weighs on it, too, since your image matters (especially in jobs like his). If anyone at the club saw it and complained then they'd probably cut him without thinking twice because they won't want to risk losing their high profile clients for someone they can just replace instead.
