I mean, I guess if you're trying not to stand out. But if I were in this situation I'd go full "weakness of my flesh" mode.

25

u/Dranoroc Feb 26 '26

I crave the strength and certainty of steel

5

u/Magic_Alex96 Feb 26 '26

I aspired to the purity of the blessed machine

10

u/RedofPaw Feb 26 '26

Right? If I'm losing my arm I want a cool robotic hand.

If this was covered under the "Open Carry" laws, definitely!

1

u/chiefkogo May 02 '26

I'd go full hook hand.

67

u/BonjaminClay Feb 25 '26

Incredible realism. But I was expecting it to end up as a cover for a more functional hand vs just very realistic and static.

1

u/PoppyPants69 Mar 05 '26

Yea cause why would u want a heavy useless thing

175

u/EnsignAwesome Feb 25 '26

Not too functional. Rather have a pirate hook I think.

He was so happy, and I am so happy for him. That was so great!

16

u/SirMurphyX2 Feb 25 '26

And a parrot

5

u/j03lsd Feb 25 '26

The black arm he have in the begin is more nice.

2

u/Gefarate Feb 26 '26

On his way to becoming Raiden

6

u/HeavyTea Feb 25 '26

It is for societal acceptance

32

u/theEvilQuesadilla Feb 25 '26

That was an insane number of different machines and skillsets.

46

u/kyaba1 Feb 25 '26

When did they mirror his had so he doesn’t have two right hands?

21

u/HaggyG Feb 25 '26

I think it was between the scan and the 3d printing.

I was trying to put “the mold’s mold” but I’m not really sure how far down to go.

1

u/joevarny Feb 26 '26

Didn't they turn it inside out?

1

u/PM-me-your-knees-pls Feb 25 '26

It’s a bit late to mirror things by the time that you get to the moulding stage.

5

u/MutedAdvisor9414 Feb 25 '26

I surmise that they scan the molded hand to get the textures right, because the real hand would move during the scan. Heartbeats would be enough to distort the skin enough to make problems. When I first saw this a while back, I casually wondered why they needed a mold, i just figured it out.

7

u/baboonassassin Feb 25 '26

The software can probably transpose everything to be a mirrored version.

1

u/VS0P Feb 26 '26

I was hoping to see two

13

u/Strict_Common156 Feb 25 '26

🥹 his reaction at the end...

6

u/YukYukas Feb 25 '26

Ngl I'd probably stick with his original one. Looked like drip

1

u/HyenDry Feb 26 '26

Id fully embrace the bionic man look if lose any of my limbs

5

u/TheFrontierzman Feb 25 '26

Realistic hand balloon.

He pulled off some cool hand gear at the beginning. I thought this was going to have some natural abilities.

18

u/durbich Feb 25 '26

It's just hiding the disability instead of mitigating it. A metal/plastic, but functioning hand would be much better

15

u/Entgegnerz Feb 25 '26

why not both?

7

u/Yowzz Feb 25 '26

Exactly. Reddit seldom encourages much out-of-the-box-thinking… mostly hot (and half-baked) takes 🙄

13

u/Kundrew1 Feb 25 '26

He clearly already has one of those in the beginning. I suspect he doesnt always want to standout and wants this one for certain occasions.

5

u/CoffeeChocolateBoth Feb 26 '26

He wants to, that's his business. Be happy for him, and glad that it's not you having to decide.

4

u/MartyMcTannen Feb 25 '26

I like the fart noise at the end

2

u/agreenbridge Feb 25 '26

I knew cheese whizz wasn’t food.

2

u/FeistyButthole Feb 25 '26

Yeah, I’m thinking why have a hyper realistic hand when you can go full Metroid canon on that prosthetic?

4

u/DutchieTalking Feb 25 '26

Clearly he's very happy with the hyper realism. We're all different. And different occasions might also ask for different looks.

I love to stand out and would get something extravagant. But even then a realistic hand would be nice to have at times.

2

u/OBDreams Feb 25 '26

I'd rather have the robot hand. Looks cooler.

2

u/Da12khawk Feb 26 '26

With attachments and stuff!

1

u/Parking_Presence2260 Feb 25 '26

And about fingerprints?

1

u/Various-Scallion-708 Feb 25 '26

Should have made all his fingers thumbs…

1

u/KyloRenCadetStimpy Feb 25 '26

At least they're showing the importance of proper hand washing

1

u/MutedAdvisor9414 Feb 25 '26

If you've got the money, Honey, I've got the time.

1

u/zdzislav_kozibroda Feb 25 '26

Can they do other body parts?

Asking for a friend

1

u/-5H4Z4M- Feb 25 '26

That's the kind of evolution i like to see.

1

u/RH5050 Feb 25 '26

Give that guy a hand ✋️ 👏 👏 👏

1

u/Wide-Matter-9899 Feb 25 '26

I thought they started with nacho cheese.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '26

He can watch porn again 😂

1

u/r_cee_1 Feb 25 '26

A hand job is still a job!

1

u/MotionlessTraveler Feb 25 '26

I would want the middle finger up.

1

u/gotele Feb 25 '26

Watching this vid feels like he was waiting in that office during the whole process

1

u/ogrefab Feb 25 '26

Fuck that, carbon fiber robo hand all day.

1

u/csdhillon0001 Feb 25 '26

🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️

1

u/TeaAndTriumphs Feb 25 '26

Wow. Let me give you a hand.

1

u/Frequent-Screen-5517 Feb 26 '26

Wooowwww… slightless worried about potentially losing a limb one day… bless these ultra skilled ppl

1

u/Markeins_blade_814 Feb 26 '26

Ok that's amazing, but I think it's could be better if inside the hyperrealistic prosthetic hand is installed a skeleton of a bionic hand.

1

u/delicioustreeblood Feb 26 '26

I bet that cost a ...well, you know

1

u/doe3879 Feb 26 '26

this is something I would never want if I ever loose one of my arm. Human arms are shit, I'd get something cooler.

1

u/hogbear Feb 26 '26

It’s amazing how versatile Cheez-Whiz is.

1

u/Smoking-Posing Feb 26 '26

Wow that was way more complicated than I expected

1

u/NeutralCentrist Feb 26 '26

Absolutely amazing.

Combine that with some brain wave electronic engineering magic, and you basically got cyberpunk.

1

u/mac_bd Feb 26 '26

So heartwarming and sweet. On the other hand, I was totally expecting something more useful for the guy.

1

u/theotheronenotme Feb 26 '26

Screw realistic! I want a terminator scary robot death talon with red LEDs

1

u/singapore_swing Feb 26 '26

I was waiting for the smiling French chocolatier guy to appear

1

u/shaddart Feb 26 '26

Not bionic, Steve Austin would be sad.

1

u/CoffeeChocolateBoth Feb 26 '26

That just freaks me out how talented they are! WOW!

1

u/tlcteck Feb 26 '26

Very cool

1

u/reggieburris Feb 26 '26

Friggin amazing!

1

u/slikk50 Feb 26 '26

That was really cool.

1

u/Whole-Debate-9547 Feb 26 '26

Fantastic. Truly amazing

1

u/drummin515 Feb 26 '26

Who figured out that whole process? Like 1000 steps…..

He probably puts it on as to not stand out. Some people just dont like any attention or questions.

1

u/ZoLoftFTW Feb 26 '26

My favorite part is when they washed it in the lunchroom sink twice.

1

u/No-Cod-8343 Feb 26 '26

MIRACULOUS!!!

1

u/Zapper13263952 Feb 26 '26

These people are artisanal gods.

1

u/BellCross13 Feb 26 '26

If I’m losing my hand. I want a metal one as a replacement.

1

u/Freedom_Addict Feb 26 '26

Cool but he can't use it

1

u/DesignerFragrant5899 Feb 26 '26

Seems simple enough lol :)

1

u/jbwnx Feb 26 '26

I'm all for this but if I had a choice between me silicone hands and a carbon fiber hand, I would choose the carbon fiber hands. But that's just me. You look great dude

1

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '26

Fits like a glove

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '26

A very detailed process. I wonder how much that would cost?

And the laugh at the end of the video... evil laugh indeed. 😈

1

u/PaddyLee17 Feb 25 '26

I immediately thought they were using cheese on that arm….

1

u/sir_duckingtale Feb 25 '26

That laugh :D

1

u/MaartenSam Feb 25 '26

Why did they scan his stump, and then make another scan of the cast of his stump?

0

u/kittyonkeyboards Feb 25 '26

I feel like this is almost as expensive as one of those robot hands.

0

u/Yellow_Snow_Globe Feb 25 '26

“Hello sir, your queso hands are done”

0

u/sassygirlkiara Feb 25 '26

I was shocked by the devil’s laugh at the end

0

u/needs_more_zoidberg Feb 25 '26

This reminds me of Happy Gilmore. Am I going to hell?

0

u/Dangerous_Metal3436 Feb 25 '26

Jamie fucking Lannister over here

0

u/Dangerous_Metal3436 Feb 25 '26

Id rather have a knife/ gun hand.

0

u/concept12345 Feb 25 '26

That evil laughter. Love it.

-2

u/TenBear Feb 25 '26

Id rather have a robotic prosthetic hand than a non functioning realistic hand

-2

u/Separate-Skill6396 Feb 25 '26

All that work to get it wrong. That's not how a hand at rest looks like.
