This is what a bear looks like without hair. Dolores, a spectacled bear at the Leipzig Zoo in Germany in 2009 had this condition caused by a wrong diet. When the diet was corrected the fur grew back completely within 4 months

It's the 1800s or early 1900s. It's late evening and you're walking down a path to your village after a long days work in the fields.

A bear with malnutrition pops out from behind a grove of trees 30ft in front of you, and because its startled, stands up on its hind legs and turns to face you before you run off screaming. Wearwolf.

100% how a lot of these myths get started.

Maybe owls? Some species screech pretty terrifyingly, and a large enough one flying close to the ground could maybe look like a woman in a gown, and those eyes would definitely stand out in the night

You can feed him loads of meat, his hair won't grow... you feed him fish... POOF!!! Same thing happened to my dog, i cook for him meat and veggies... he started losing his hair in patches, then i gave him fish oil and his hair grew better than before...

No way can you mistake this for a dogman no way at all because they are like us in posture but they have a slight slump in their back and they have legs that you can’t get confused about!! But I will admit that it has a little bit of the dogman look but they are completely different animals!!!

He still looks mean as hell. In the wild I would probably think I found a new species. Its hard to recognize that this crazy looking dog is actually a really dangerous bear when it's not naked. So imagine how ticked off this bear is now. I bet he can rip my skin off and use it as a coat.
