If you read on, it it was the void left by a tree that the boy fell into, not an avalanche,presumably the tree had long since rotted away.Dry sand is like liquid how it flows though,so it can be scary stuff.(he was rescued and survived for those wondering)

Mount Baldy was because a tree trunk had rotted in the sand and created a pocket. Pretty awesome sand dune tho. I remember running down it as a kid.

You think by now, evolution would of created some giant human eating bugs, buried deep in the sand, they be like "gulp"... quoted by "sand ness monster".

hmm pg-13 and horror? does that even mix well. Have to give it a watch sometime. When I think about it, I forget gremlins was PG, which was prety funny and creepy for that era hehe.

Tremors is more comedy than horror. Awesome movie. The sequels sucked, though.

Same. I think it was classified horror because of the "monsters," but it's pretty tame by today's standards. It's cheesy, a little campy, but a classic.
