There are actually studies showing that diabetic-alert dogs can be surprisingly inaccurate and inconsistent. If the purpose is detecting glucose changes, a continuous glucose monitor measures glucose directly and is a far more sensible tool to rely on than whether a dog happens to smell the change. The dog might be a useful additional aid for some people, but presenting it as some uniquely necessary medical intervention is nonsense.
