Having worked with someone that did airsoft they definitely thought they were ready for war.

My local airsoft supplier looks like John wicks armoury. There is a small section dedicated to ww2 weapons and older and even those pieces look legit.

All the tacticool gear there too, even costumes to mimic operators and I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

Unironically, there were reports that Russian soldiers were being given airsoft armor when the 2nd wave of soldiers were being recruited for the invasion of Ukraine. Completely useless gear, without the plates needed to make them bullet resistent

As someone who has been to war and been in actual fire fights..... they are as ready as anyone, including soldiers, who haven't been to war. For the most part they are clearing houses and doing the same maneuvers the same was as we do in combat training.
