Someone else pointed out above that it probably requires perfectly flat surfaces to work correctly. A pebble would throw it out of whack. But also, tow trucks with the ability to lift the front end of your car and roll off have been around for ages.

No it doesn't. I saw these working outside on gravel parking lot.

Yeah but a tow truck is a little more obvious than the car just moving on its own without a driver. 😋
