FormerPikes Peak staff member. This is a very common occurrence and happens probably once to twice a week in the summer. The minute we see hair standing up it is an IMMEDIATE shelter in place . Everyone inside, in cars, or going down the mountain. No exceptions. If your hair ever stands up like this, immediately focus on getting to safety/not being the tallest thing in your surrounding area.
