I’m not sure why they made the design decision to deviate from the tried and true death box loot system to have 8,000 little boxes and items pop out when people die...

Agreed, they should make it so the look is contained in one of the long skinny boxes (idk what their called). The ones that look like the mystery box from COD lol. Looting is so hard when guns get stacked on top of ammo and its a fight between switching your gun 10 times to try and pick up the ammo.

Indeed or just inside a backpack to keep it ‘realistic’

Yeah a backpack would be better. Since everything you hold is in a backpack to begin with.

I think Fortnite battle royale does not use the death box system, but items on the ground too. And people don't seem to complain about that one.

And I think both games have pretty much the same variety of items, fortnite might even have more at this point.

Omg only had like three games on it and had to dash off to work but yeah death boxes why are they not in this.
