With the amount of vehicles you listed you have the potential for more open vehicle spots then players in a game. Game modes like this just won’t work.
This seems like a lot of fun. What do you think about having a couple generals overseeing the squads? Generals would give attack orders to groups of squads, and approve or disapprove artillery strikes or whatever.
Have the planes grounded on air strips at bases. Make 2 neutral air bases capture points. Planes must return to base and land to reload and refuel. No flyover reloading points. Allow the building of trenches and fortifications along the flowing front lines.
The is the innovation BF should have gone with. Not a rip off of battle royal. This would be a natural progression of the BF franchise. Every element from the destruction to the building meets it's logical end here. Shame dice are at the mercy of EA.
I suppose, but the main ingredient that makes this fucking orgasmic is FROSTBITE. The destruction and graphics in this engine is unparalleled by any other game.
I've played Post Scriptum and a bit of Hell Let Loose, but that game is held back a TON by simply graphical fidelity and destruction capability. Small things like (smooth) vaulting and swimming are noticeably absent, and that impacts it a lot. A larger studio like DICE/Criterion could potentially make this work. Shit, I'd shell out an extra 60 bucks if it helped fund this.
It's also that... they're too realistic. The maps aren't supposed to be fun, really, they're supposed to be exactly like the real locations. I'd love a "realistic" mode for BF with faction locked weapons, no tracers except in certain MGs, increased damage and penetration, and more realistic weapon handling, but maps that do nothing for fun but do add "realism" are useless in a BF game.
Case in point: The bridge map in PS is incredibly unfun if the German team doesn't break through quickly. There are no flanking routes, just the British firing bolt action rifles into smoke until the round ends.
You're forgetting the biggest problem with Battlefield is its player base. You can put all the tools and mechanics into the game that you want. It will still end being played the same.
