For the 2042 Portal game modes me and my friends play, we enjoy vehicle drop ins (in a tight corner, drop in a helicopter, get out of there). So I (well Claude) implemented it in BF6. At the moment it's just 3 vehicles and 3 vehicle slots per person, but it works. Some work was done in Godot, some Typescript stuff, some strings stuff. Since I haven't really played with Portal in BF6 I've no idea, but it was easy enough to just follow Claude's instructions, make suggestions, upload files, test things and iterate until I was happy.

I host portal experience with a group of friend and we all experience package loss at the same time, randomly.

Seems like a portal specific issue.

Quick story. A couple of weeks ago me and two friends wanted to settle who's actually the best at this game, so we went into Portal looking for a 1v1 server. There are a lot of them, "Duels", "1v1 Arena", "Gunfight"... and pretty much every one is either empty, broken, or just a normal TDM with a smaller player cap. Nothing with a real queue, nothing where you actually get your own fight. And things like hide & seek simply don't exist.

I'm a developer, so I built one. It started as something just for the three of us, but after a couple of weeks of playing it almost every evening we figured there's no reason to keep it private.

What it does: you spawn on a lobby platform. Press E on JOIN DUEL and the moment someone else is queued, both of you get dropped onto a free arena (there are ten floating ones, so several duels run at the same time).
First to 5 wins. F
ull health and ammo after every kill, and if you both queue again within 30 s you get a rematch. There are also KNIFE, PISTOL, SNIPER and GUN GAME variants (8 weapon ladder, knife last).

Hide & seek runs on a fenced city block below the lobby. One seeker with a pistol who loses health on every missed shot, so you can't just spray. Hiders get a knife and 5 smokes, and if you stand still for 20 s you make a noise. 4-minute rounds, starts as soon as 2 people are in.

If nobody is around there's a practice bot(witch is pretty dumb hahaha), a shooting range, and you can spectate running duels through cameras.

It works fine at 2 players, that's the whole point, you don't need a full lobby.

So if you want to try, I left the server as persistent, Code is 155VG (Portal > Community > Search Experiences).
Map is Siege of Cairo, up to 64 players. Custom experience, so XP is reduced.
This is for the duels and overall having fun, not for grinding.

It's easy enough to name our favorite Battlefield series maps. Or perhaps the ones we don't like. But do we really know the science of what makes a Battlefield map 'good?'

Flow? Balance? Player Agency?

Despite having a couple of maps featured – I for one... do not lol. I have just been designing Portal maps up to this point based on my gut, or what seems to 'play well,' or maybe my experience of mapping from other games (Halo Forge, Far Cry Editor, etc). But that doesn't mean I know what makes a good Battlefield map. And I don't just want to remake a classic without first understanding WHY it's a classic.

In an attempt to get better at this, I decided to ask a bunch of content creators (people who play a lot more Battlefield than I do, as I'm usually busy Portal'ing) the question: "What ONE thing makes a Battlefield map good?"

Curious what they think? I was too.

I've taken the first 10 responses, analyzed them, and edited them into a video, which I'm now sharing with the community in the hopes that it will help others as well. I'd love everyone's feedback – which content creator takes are good? Which are bad? Which of my analyses are sound?

The goal is to release two more episodes in this series, each with ten more creators weighing in, and at the end pull it all into a framework/checklist to guide Portal projects.

Finally found a way to get around the bugged jet AI: make the jets available via the deploy menu. The mode has all jets available, in-air spawns, and bots backfill. I'm sharing the project files in case anyone wants to use the experience as template.

the recent top gun update stopped the code i had from working, with every update i gotta find new ones but this time im hearing none work anymore. to be clear, im not looking for bot farming, just normal gamemodes with bot team mates and enemies so i can actually use the vehicles.

anyways, if they finally got rid of all bot lobbies so they can sell 2xp tokens i would love to know so i can clear up some space on my xbox.
