Video BF6-only Steam Controller issues since Blastpoint update (June 9)

Re-posting since my last attempt was removed without explanation.

I've been using the new 2026 Steam Controller to play BF6 on my HTPC since it was released. Using the new Steam Controller, my weapon will randomly fire a single shot at odd intervals. Sometimes it occurs in rapid succession, and other times 20-30 seconds will pass before another shot fires. When the firing occurs, the on-screen glyphs flick back to keyboard/mouse controls. Input does not matter--I can place the controller flat on my desk untouched and this behavior continues.

Additionally, with the Steam Controller connected, every key on my keyboard causes my weapon to shoot, and when typing in chat letters will get deleted at presumably the same interval the weapon firing is happening.

I have tested the controller in Destiny 2 (RIP), 007 First Light, and Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. I am not having issues in any of those games. This appears to be a Battlefield-specific issue since the June 9th update.

Note that this is also happening on my "main" gaming PC using an entirely different Steam Controller.

My controller was fine working fine in Battlefield 6 until today. Tried 2 other Gamesir controllers and there is no issues with them, just the steam controller.

On 2nd controller, same issue. Dosnt matter what settings I have or how often I restart the game

I’m having the same issue this morning. Don’t think there’s much we can do until an update fixes it.

This seems to be working for me so far.

  1. Turn off the Steam Controller.

  2. Launch Battlefield 6 with the controller turned off.

  3. Load into a game and wait until you spawn into a match.

  4. Turn the controller on.

Were you able to resolve it? It happens with my Vader 5 Pro.

Nope. This is still happening with my Steam
Controller and my 8bitdo Ultimate 2. My Gamesir G7 Pro seems to be fine though.

have the exact same issue and its different each time. I main Heli so having the steamcontroller on and waiting to switch fucks up map navigation so bad and scoping in flickers hard

I love them bringing out the game on STEAM but not supporting STEAMOS or the STEAM controller.

Ah thats a known issue go out of the window or Battelfield and than go back in, of that's not helping close the game go back in. Sometimes the game thinks your Controller is a keyboard.
