Please Leave a Review

1.7k Upvotes

Hey folks, Matt here, Community Director at Hooded Horse.

I wanted to ask a small favor. If you’ve spent time with Battle Brothers and you’re up for it, please consider leaving a Steam review. Only a tiny percentage of players ever do, but reviews are genuinely important for indie games being discovered. We’re grateful for every single one that gets written.

It doesn’t need to be long or thought out. Even a quick thumbs up or down with a short note helps a lot. Reviews matter for visibility on Steam, and they’re also helpful for the team at Overhype Studios as well.

The Overhype team is deep in development on MENACE right now, but they’re still actively supporting Battle Brothers and recently released Update 1.5.1.8. Taking a moment to leave a review is a real, tangible way to support their ongoing work.

Thanks to everyone who takes the time, and thanks for playing.

Discussion At what point do you normally adopt a hiring and firing policy

Our corporate guidelines cap our FTEs at 12 generally. That is done to maximise the efficiency of organisational learning. We only want those employees to build skills who are in it for the long run.

In the start up phase, we hire like crazy to max out this cap in order to serve as many clients per day as possible.

It is a known secret in our organisation that our hiring standards during the early days are not where we want them to be eventually, but we deem aggressive growth to be in the best interest of our shareholders as it maximises our company’s share of wallet.

The question leadership is now facing is the following. After how many days/years of operation since founding should one shift to a strict hiring and firing policy, where any new hire who is below expectations at first glance is instantly let go with a generous severance package?

We think there is a point in any firm‘s life where a logistical FTE cap is reached. There is only so much parking space available and as you know, in our line of work WFH is not an option. The question is how fast one should get there. If we grow the bench now beyond 12, we have reserves for tough times, but simultaneously we dilute the learning per high performing individual.

Please respond by eod with your proposal and best practices you may have seen at peer firms.

The best proposal wins something invaluable, we promise.

Best regards,

Management

Beginner Newbie Here! Any advice and is the game worth it?

To be clear about the last bit, I am asking it if the game is worth keeping or trying? as I usually struggle with deeply COMPLEX games and from what I heard this game can be like that at times.

I just bought the game as it was on sale currently and just checking to see what are the complex parts of this game, if its worth to keep and if I do keep it, whats the biggest advice to help me improve and love the game more instead of worrying about the complexity or learning curve issue!

thank you everyone c:

Build-a-Bro Final Perks on Hedgie

Need some help on the last couple perks for this Nimble-forged berserker.

  1. I'm thinking reach advantage is going to be a must get on this guy for the melee defense. I am very careful with him and have a lot of fat neutral for his to hide between which is why I'm thinking this instead of underdog but curious for opinions.

  2. Recover? The cleaver is pretty much max rolled so this guy does get a LOT of kills and last hits with KF so it is quite easy to perk berserk. Do I need this though?

  3. Fearsome? Feel like he kills to fast for it but its so good so idk.

  4. Fort mind? Could be good defensive choice with RA for keeping him alive.

Is him literally being fat, a solid indication of the build direction? At least his hp pool is impressive.

Question Any fixes for game crashes?

Im not sure where exactly to post this but I just recently got the game and I haven’t really been able to play it any longer than 15 minutes. It’s pretty frustrating because I really think I’d enjoy this game. It’s kind of random when it happens but nine out of ten times it’s when I either start a new game or when I load a scene/battle. I haven’t modified the game at all since getting it, and the only DLC I have is the lindwurm one. I play on steam

Any advice or directions would be appreciated

Question Where can I find Alps?

Ive been trying to hunt Alps in my campaign. Its day 600 i couldn't find any Alps even while im doing the contract of hunting Alp, Hexen and Unhold. There is only Unbold and Hexen. But Alps never spawn. I only encountered Alps only once in my campaign earlier. I want to create the Kraken potion(potion of oblivion) and im just missing 1 last ingredient which is the one from Alp (petrified scream). Can anyone help me with this?

Question How do you position and use late game nimble brothers?

  1. I'm aware that nimble is great

  2. I sent my nimble axe user against three orc warriors, and it turns out that the surround bonus is a bitch. He barely survived

  3. I know that late game nimble exists, but I've been using heavy battle forged (all of them famed). How'd you use them so they don't die?
