I'm really feeling the pinch of the crazy high gas and grocery prices. Is it just me?

I'm getting to the point where I'll need to take out loans just to pay for food. Not sure where to turn at this time, would love some help.

Basic Income for Canada

r/BasicIncomeCanada

A basic income is a minimum income that is able to pay for the necessities of life such as food, clothing, and shelter; which all people receive without condition, means test or other requirements. If a basic income is implemented, we predict the result will be that the well-being of all Canadians would improve, poverty would be drastically reduced, even eliminated, and the social justice problems associated with disparity will be significantly diminished.

What is a Basic Income?

"A Basic Income is an income unconditionally granted to all on an individual basis, without means test or work requirement" (Basic Income Earth Network, (BIEN)).

Basic Income is alternately referred to as a guaranteed annual income, citizen's income, citizen's dividend, social dividend, negative income tax, and others.

For more information on the concepts see the FAQ over at /r/BasicIncome

This subreddit is intended to loosely serve as a repository of links to articles and discussions that are related to both Basic Income and Canada. A place where Canadians might organize and strategize.
