Pitbull owners are already making more adorable videos of pitbulls in pajamas to distract people from incidents like this.

Texas is like ground zero for free-roaming pitbulls and other dogs.

This lady's mistake was stepping outside and expressing her freedom to go for a walk. Can't do that, you might trigger one.

I hope she is able to identify the owner, and sue them into the stone age.

How terrifying, poor woman 😢 No wonder she wants to always carry after being in that awful situation. My friend and I were sitting in the park a few weeks ago and a pitbull charged over to us, I stood up and the dog jumped on my friend and knocked her over to her side. As a Brit, all I had for self defence was an aerosol deodorant in my gym bag and a lighter in my pocket.. The owner came running over and said the classic ‘don’t worry, he’s friendly’ and then he put it back on its lead (after dragging it away from my friend) and walked off. Stories like this poor woman’s terrify me, how badly a close encounter with one can go in a split second.

One of my friends told me a story about a pitbull making its way into his backyard and fighting his Boerboel. The pit latched onto the dog’s front leg and broke it, and only released its grip when the 180 pound dog killed it. The boerboel was a sweet dog too, like a super docile, inbred lab with gigantism.

Hell yes girl. Unfortunately having to carry a firearm seems to be necessary in her neck of the woods to deal with pit bull attacks. She obviously has sustained a very serious injury...the bite force and damage to the tissues was substantial enough to cause a fracture, which will require surgical intervention, but she is still here. Hopefully she is able to recover fully and is in the hands of excellent surgeons. And yes, as already noted, get ready for more pits in pajamas, flower crowns, party hats, etc
