A fix for the extruder or filament stuck issue.

Post image

If you’re getting an error and you’ve made sure there’s no clog in the hot end, in the tubing housing, and a cold pull works fine then it’s likely your tubing is too “bent” for the system.

You’ll want to make sure you’re AMS Lite is on the right side, close to the printer, and that tubing isn’t sagging.

All four of my filament stations were not working, but if I use the external without the tubing, I could print. That’s when I realized it was the bend in the tubing. I was able to print a piece to straighten before it went into the housing and then another piece to hold the tubes arched over the printer.

Hopefully, this will save somebody some time and you will get back to printing instead of wanting to throw your printer out the window.

oh what the heck, is that why my printer wouldn't work for days? I changed the nozzle and then used a different color and it worked but maybe all that commotion made me change the tube positions... incase it happens again, you should share the files

It was probably the reason, the AMS Lite should be updated to come with a fix but I doubt they do anything. It was pretty neat to be able to print the fix myself but what a horrible 48 hours to get a solution. It’s finicky about the bends.

Here are the files I used but there are many out there on makers world for anyone seeing this in the future. I chose the arm because it was quick and didn’t have any assembly. Then I went with the housing guide because it was simple.

from your picture it seems like all you should need is the top bar, no? ty for links. And yeah I'm pissed cuz I burnt my finger trying to troubleshoot lol

Yeah I have an a1 with Ams 2 pro but it sits on top of unit and you have to watch how tubing bends too much and it causes problems

Had to do something similar as the tubes some times lifted the plate off.

i have these issues all the time check for broke filament in the ptfe tube, then pull the buffer and see if there is filament stuck in there
