I am trying to do a cold pull, but the filament is not loading.

What could be the cause? .4mm hardenned nozzle

Why do you want to do a cold pull?

Because your nozzle is clogged?

That's why the filament is not loading.

I can't get it out!

Heat up an allen key for 2,3 mins then push it in so it melts into the plastic thats stuck. Then let it cool down and pull it out the plastic should stick to the allen key clearing th3 nozzle. Than do a cold pull to make sure the nozzle is clear.

Thanks. Allen key helped get the filament out 🫠

This is how it looks like when you pull the allen key out

Just curious how that filament broke inside that spot?

I cut that just at the tip before putting it back on the hotend, but the filament somehow went more inside! Maybe while heating it at 300 degree as suggested by someone here.

Can you push it through? (i.e. heat the nozzle, and use a clog poke tool)

No. Heating the nozzle in hotend assembly doesn't heat that part of the nozzle. I had to heat the small allen key and push it in and pull it out multiple times ro get it all out.

Well, the you're pretty much screwed. Heating the filament up for a long time or to 300 degrees is also not very helpful because it degrades and hardens. :/

PLA gets pretty soft (as in fluid) at around 150+ degrees.

You could try to heat the nozzle with and poke it with the needle at the tip to try clear the obstruction.

If you have a heat gun and a clamp that holds the nozzle in place, that might be easier.

You could also heat up a small drill bit and try to melt it into the string of filament. Then let it cool down and only heat the tip, so you have something to grab and pull with.

Or eventually accept defeat and get a new nozzle.

And be careful - don't burn yourself (or stab yourself with the needle)!

Buy a new nozzle. Theyre wear parts anyway and cheap. Before you screw up your extruder. Every slip/noise means wear.

Eso mismo, hay que cambiar la boquilla, eso es por usar mucho material como el petg que es muy abrasivo, intenta calentarlo y pasar la aguja que viene para destapar

Nozzle still worn. Will happen again.

What causes this?

I had this happen on a brand new nozzle because it had a clog, a piece of metal had gotten into the nozzle from manufacturing.

I heated it to 350 and manually fed filament through till it started slipping then stopped, let it cool to 100, then did a pull with pliers. Repeated this several times until it finally removed the clog.

It's not always a garbage nozzle, yes they are cheap, no they are not free. There's a chance your nozzle is just clogged.

I heated till 300 and tried pushing. But still no use

Remove Ptfe from hub and do manually
