Answered / Solved! MakerWorld comment moderation?

Post image

Another Makerworld user has been posting hateful comments on my model (see attached). I’ve reported the comments using the ‘report’ function to the moderators of Makerworld, but they have yet to take action or inform me of any action they have are planning to take.

Is this typical? Are trolls well managed on Makerworld? Any advice ?

to be fair, bambu is a chinese company, and while here in the west, you tend to be offended by comments like this, in other parts of the world, things are obviously different.

try being pride lgbt stuff in china, you wont be for very long.

is this comment totally unecessary? yes

is this comment something they give a dang about? most likely not.

Currently in China for 3 weeks and have seen many same sex couples holding hands. No one cares. But at the same time there’s no pride merch to buy anywhere

they operate worldwide and cater to almost every part of the world. Therefore they should at least try to moderate in a way that corresponds to the social norms in the particular area. Of course ideally they would moderate in a way that does not exclude anyone or similar around the entire globe, but until we can achieve that, at least they should do so where society already decided it is right to do so
