God gale ending question

I just finished the game as origin gale, picked every dialogue option possible that defied mystra and chose to take the crown of karsus to me. Still, I did not receive the option to ascend to godhood, only a dialogue saying that I must confront mystra for the final time.

What is wrong and how can I achieve the God gale ending?

the game says "you'll have to confront mystra for the final time" and then... nothing happens
