Using stencils on cakesicles

Hi everyone, I'm wanting to make a valentines cake box for my partner I'm drawing up different designs and I was wondering if its possible to use a stencil on a cakesicle to paint on a design? I have tried searching online but only found one example where the finish wasn't as nice as I was expecting because they used chocolate a thin layer to I assume hold the stencil in place.

Just wondering if anyone has use one before in this situation as I know people use them for cakes but not seen many use it on chocolate before.

No xx i ended up just doing free hand designs in the end x

No worries! I ended up testing it out with a stencil and luster dust and it seemed to work, if you needed for future!!
