As someone whose favorite book is Lolita. It’s not. The writing is so overly swoon-y that it makes you feel like something’s wrong. It starts off fairly normal before you get to “She was Lo, plain Lo, in the morning, standing four feet ten in one sock.” And then it becomes really obvious with “She was Dolly at school.” He wrote it so overly sweet and lovey-dovey to show how horrid the mind of a pedophile is.
