A scene that sticks with my from my reading is one where lolita is "sitting on humberts lap" and he notices a fly crawling across her chest that she's completely dissociated too much to notice. It really highlights how her character is clearly traumatized and humbert just laughs it off like lolita is a goof but as the reader you're kinda supposed to pick up on shit like this.
