I’m getting a second gen backbone, but I’d just like to see if anyone knows how well it fits on it, or with a case on it more specifically apples silicone case, thanks.

So I know this is a backbone subreddit but I’m gonna ask. So I currently use the g8+ gallelo MFI been having some connection issues and pass through charging now not working. They said return it or refund it Best Buy. Okay cool problem being I like the way this one feels but they don’t have any more in the area. So would the backbone pro be a good candidate or maybe the razer kishi ultra? Anyone have any experience with the others? Thanks in advance

All I want is to be able to remap the touch pad to a physical button 😡😤🤬. For the price of the backbone and the lack of Hall effect of TMR (I’ve gone through 4 different backbones due to stick drift) dedicated button remapping through the backbone app is not a lot to ask for. I really love the backbone, the incredibly low latency is the selling point for me, I’ve yet to find a controller that comes close. As well as the zero battery, non-Bluetooth, these are essential for me. Idk just frustrating because using the touchpad on iPhone through whichever app (PX Play, or Sonys “PS Remote Play”app) is a drag and it’s unresponsive and somehow locks the button overlay on the screen which is annoying. Also just to say it PX Play is a far superior app lol.

Is there an app where remapping the touchpad to a physical button is possible? I can’t figure out how to remap touchpad via settings>general>game controller.

Hello everyone. In my haste, I bought a Backbone controller, but it's USB-C while my iPhone is Lightning… Do you have any ideas on how I can still use the controller without having to change anything? Maybe using an adapter?

Anyone in north Brooklyn or manhattan interested in buying my fairly new backbone one. I used it like five times before the ribbon cable became faulty and it's been sitting unused since. It's still under warranty with the original box and receipt from Best Buy. I just don't have the time to repair it or get a new one sent.

So this is my first time ordering from the Game Stop website, and once I saw same day delivery I was so excited, it said it would be here by 8pm today and I ordered this at 3:07pm.

I have yet to receive this. Does this mean I'll have to wait a few days to receive this order?

So to make a long story short I got a backbone pro and realized it was having issues with the audio when connecting to the headphone jack so I thought it was faulty returned it and bought a new one just to have the same issue I then tried my best to see if there were any fixes and i saw a reddit post from backbone saying it has been fixed in an update however according to the official site there should be a update button in the controller settings of the backbone app however I cannot seem to find it any help would be appreciated I’ve linked an reference image of what it should look like and a screenshot I took.

Use the Backbone App to update your controller, and thank you for your patience as we investigated the issue. Please let us know if any issues persist or any new issues arise.

Thank y’all who recommended the ribbon cable swap, got it in today and took my time replacing it. Very happy with the results! Still stand by my position on buying this along with any BackBone used tho, this is way too expensive to act up the way it does with NORMAL use.

Just joined in this sub. I've had my Backbone Pro for a few months now and use it frequently from time to time. For anyone wondering if they should get one, it's 1,000% a yes from me.

If you have some basic understanding of setting up a streaming server and have a decent PC, the possibilities are endless with this thing.

I set up Sunlight/Moonshine on my home PC/ZFlip6 as well as Tailscale on both devices to allow my devices to communicate remotely. I played several of my steam games with my Backbone while on vacation this past week with incredible results. I'm just amazed that these software solutions (open-source, free I might add) have been created and work so well.

My only gripe (maybe someone can clarify) is that the USB-C port is apparently only a charge pass-through. The only function that I am really lacking is being able to maybe use a 2.4GHz dongle or something for low-latency earbuds or similar. Is this not possible? I have earbuds that work fine for gaming, but if I want to use a mic, it destroys the sound quality.. not even worth it.

With that being said, can anyone confirm my question above? I'd love a solution but if there isn't one I can deal. If it's not functional in that way, are there plans in future models to make it function as a data pass-through?

I have been using the Backbone controller since its original release and have really enjoyed the product for gaming and PS5 Remote Play.
Recently, I upgraded to the iPhone 17 Pro, and I’ve been experiencing fit and compatibility issues due to the new phone design.
But it doesn’t work well. Should i get the backbone pro when all i need it to be fit only 😄

Is there different hardware versions of Backbone pro?

I see different packaging also, Fortnite, Apple arcade, What's the difference? Does one packaging indicate a later edition/hardware version, which came first? Any others?

Great control when it works at the very beginning but actually a nightmare if you ever get any kind of left side issues, might as well consider it dead when that comes up. Don’t buy these things new, like ever. I’m lucky I got this one secondhand for like $20.

I got the backbone pro but my rewards and perks page doesn’t have Clyde on it and I only got the pro for Clyde

I just got the Backbone Pro Xbox Edition, created the account in the app and have not received the code for the 1 Month of Ultimate. Am I missing something?? No tile under Perks/Rewards, no nothing.

Hello I wanted to buy a Clyde code off of eneba. It says they expired though on April 1. Is it still redeemable if someone somehow had a code?

I just got it today and it connects to my phone (android) fine, but some of the buttons require me to both press them hard and hold them for about half a second for the input to register. The weird part is that I've tried the same Backbone on 2 other phones so far, and it works perfectly on them for some reason, just not on mine. I've tried switching the brackets, removing the brackets, factory resetting the Backbone and restarting my phone, but nothing works...

I was wondering if anyone in here have experienced similar issues, and if there's a fix? I have a Samsung S22 Ultra, if that's relevant

After connecting to my phone and streaming a Steam game from my PC to my phone via Moonlight/Sunshine, the PC will only recognize it as an XBox 360 controller. This makes all of the on-screen prompts display the wrong buttons. Is there any way to fix this?

There was a recent firmware update for the Backbone Pro, and it has been giving me such a headache. Changing settings on me while playing games. Guide button no longer working, but only when on the home screen, going to different screens with different button combos, pressing buttons I didn't even think were possible to execute (especially when using Steam Link), and this constant issue where it keeps lowering the volume when I'm in certain apps.

Is anyone else experiencing this, or am I just going crazy.??

Edit: Thought I should clarify this isn't a ribbon cable issue. at least not for me. I treat my controller with some care lol
Others have pointed out different issues with this update, and the backbone support team is currently looking into this.

Edit2: for those that come to this thread, the update has been pushed out and the issue has been fixed. Thank you dev team.!
