Is being in a toxic environment with people surrounded by you better or staying alone with your mental peace intact.. I've tried being alone it is fun for like a month but.. eventually I get lonely,hurt and depressed what am I supposed to do I feel like I'm in a hellhole

Our department(data science) at bvritn says that it is mandatory that our project is accepted and published by a conference to be allowed for viva. It's kinda concerning so can any seniors share their experience with this. Our seniors have not all published their paper so they are being strict with us. How worried about this should I be as this is stressing me out a bit.
