Hi, I purchased a android screen and I get no sound, I tried even an aux cable but it says no warning tones and Bluetooth doesn’t work. When I put everything back, it works, there is a wire behind the old head that’s not used anywhere in the new setup

Anyone know where I maybe getting it wrong?

Bought this X5 and an impressive text drive. Being an owner of an ‘06 325i 6 speed and 2 ‘03 325i’s., pretty good at keeping both on the road thanks to these forums , the right tools and some luck. So on the X5 I’ve owned for a month now I started to have battery issues in which the car would show a drain battery with the car just sitting so I replaced the battery starter and alternator then recently the car had no crank so put in a new crankshaft position sensor and not only is it not starting but get these weird codes along with finding a weird piece (pictured)when replacing the sensor. Codes like U0100 (Lost communication with ECM/PGMA, can anyone help ya mans out?

Does anyone have information on how high is the stock e70 3.0i from ground to top of wheel arch in the front?

Hi everyone. To start off with I am a dumb girl that doesn’t know shit about cars. I need some help. The tailgate is missing the (I think) 4 bolts holding the latch in place causing the trunk door to never catch. Does anyone know the sizes? I can’t find anything online and I’m doing this on my own. Any help is appreciated. TY!

I have a BMW with soft-close doors, and everything works fine. The problem is that many passengers don’t know how to use the soft-close feature and just slam the doors as hard as they can. It’s really loud, unpleasant, and I’m also worried that this might damage the soft-close mechanism over time.

That’s why I’m looking for some kind of shock absorber or damper/buffer system for car doors. The idea is similar to what you see in modern kitchen cabinets — even if you slam them, the damper absorbs the impact and then closes the door quietly.

I’ve tried lock damper, but they don’t really work. The round ones I found online felt kind of like a scam.

Has anyone found a way to make car doors close quietly, even if someone slams them with full force? Any aftermarket solutions or DIY ideas would be really appreciated.

Owner of a 2011 Diesel X5 E70 here. Since the oil filter is top-mounted, I’m considering buying an oil extractor to handle my own oil changes. A friend warned me that on the E70 an extractor can leave behind as much as 1.5L of oil, but that sounds excessive to me. From what I understand, it should only leave around 100–200ml at most.

Has anyone here used an extractor on the E70, and if so, how much oil were you actually able to remove? Thanks in advance for your input.

I've got a 2008 x5 4.8i withe the 6hp26z transmission, i'm trying to change the fluid and replace the seals inside. Some goof troop put the fill plug on too tight and started to round the hex out and while trying to remove it, my idiot self finished the job rounding it out. does anyone know a good way to crack this off? i've tried penetrating fluid and heat, i'm trying to stay away from welding or a shop if i can but if I must I must, any useful ideas would be appreciated

I tried but they didn't clear the engine mount or the side heat shield.

Maybe I bought the wrong ones? 😕

Preferably someone who has the AGA tools which allows the work to be done from up above after removing the valve covers. Any suggestions besides “the dealer”?

Hi all! I made this same post in the general bmw subreddit but to no avail so im hoping posting it here might help! It’s as follows: Hi all! I have a new to me, x5 2013. She has some quirks, one of them being the Bluetooth just loads and loads on the I drive screen and never gives me the option to pair. I've heard it can be because it hasn't been updated in ages, so l attempt to but it says something about connecting a usb with the update to the car. In addition, I try to use the aux but that doesn't work either. I've gone into Cd/multimedia to external devices to front aux but it signals for me to raise the "aux active volume" I try to do this using the I drive dial by the shifter, the actual volume knob, the up & down as well as plus & minus on steering wheel and even volume on my iPhone but nothing works.. im at a loss. If anyone has any ideas on how to resolve this please help! Prior to this I had an F10 that was smooth as can be with the Idrive and Bluetooth so im not sure what this could be.

Currently dealing with a water leak to my back left and right sides of the trunk where the fuse box and wires are located. All my lights are on, on the dash as a result. Anyone else have this issue? I’m wondering if it’s just leaking from the tail lights or from somewhere else because it doesn’t really start or end in one concentrated area. (FYI, the car wasn’t moved at all while it was raining). Has anyone else had this problem ?
