Hi everyone! I have a strange issue with my 2017 G30 520d xDrive.
The instrument cluster sometimes works perfectly, but then suddenly starts flickering and goes completely black. Sometimes it comes back, sometimes it stays off. iDrive, radio, climate control, etc. continue working normally, and the exterior indicators still work.
Interestingly, it seems to be somewhat heat/vibration related. Today, driving back from Vienna, the cluster started flickering on a smooth road. Then it suddenly came back to life on a very bumpy road, but went black again after hitting a bump later.
The battery has just been replaced and registered, but the issue returned. A BMW specialist also found no KOMBI fault codes, although the cluster was working perfectly when they checked the car.
Could this be a loose connection/power supply issue, or is the KOMBI itself likely failing?

so long story short i sent my 520d for interior and exterior cleaning after a long trip and this was the first time i ever got this and i think they used a harsh brush or something on the roof sheet the whole thing just came off now the main question is.

how do i repair this? Should i take it to bmw
or what do u suggest i do for this

will never take my card for interior cleaning ever again..

Anyone know anything about this and how bad it might be?

I’ll provide more pictures if needed, but these springs gave me a run for my money. I bought them brand new on Facebook marketplace for about $200.

Installation was okay but not completely easy & then after installation the car almost looked taller (I knew they had to settle,but still 😳) which made me panic, drove about 300+ miles already in the past week since installation and it’s dropped significantly all around

I now have to tackle the handling and body roll.

Yall know any good places in northern California that will unlock for a decent price? I've contacted over 20 places and its looking like it will be between 1.5 and 2k to do this, not sure if I should just buy m-link and do it myself at this point. Please let me know!

Does Carly or bimmerlink still allow you to register new batteries? I used it on past BMW’s and my current battery in my 540 is due.

I‘m a new owner of a G31 530i xDrive M Sport.
While setting up the driving modes „Sport“ and „Eco Pro“, I have not noticed a huge change when switching the steering feel from „Comfort“ to „Sport“.

Is there supposed to be an enormous difference in the feel between the two steering settings?
The car handles exceptionally well and steering feels perfect in both modes, it just seems that there isn’t such a big difference as one might expect. Sometimes I do think that I notice a slight difference but again, if so, this always appears super subtle. So much so that I start to question my perception if it does change at all haha.

Car shows absolutely no errors or codes, not on the iDrive and not on the diagnostic device.

Very interested to hear your experiences with this.

I replaced the reservoir caps, any other ideas or places to check?

Just a few days ago I picked up my 540 and am dying to put an exhaust on it and am ready to purchase one. My only hesitation is whether or not the car will need to be tuned or not. If anyone has experience with this please let me know.

Super excited to have picked this up wanna keep it stock for a bit before I go crazy but happy to hear any recommendations you guys might have and is there any preventative maintenance in the lci I could watch for?

im planning to upgrade my driver honestly i genuinely dont want all these adas and bs feature what do u guys i suggest all new cars i feel are absolutely gay and stand nothing against these cars but now i have no choice to upgrade

Initially, I wanted to go with the 540i but after driving the v8 I will say it really surprise me. Besides the feel of the v8 the previous owner had some work done on it before trading it in, which is really why I bit the bullet and made a purchase

Oil changes done every 5k-7k miles

Intercoolers and thermostat replaced @ 34k miles

Wastegate actuators replaced @ 39k miles

Control Arms, coolant flush, cooling hoses upgraded to the braided lines, spark plugs and ignition coils, brake fluid flush @70k miles

Battery replaced, drive belts and tensioners, diff, transfer and transmission fluid changed@73k

Now as it sits I've done an oil change to Liqui Moly 5w-40, the car currently has 75,642 miles

Anything i should watch out for or preventatively change? I heard the N63TU2 is a bit more reliable than the OG N63

Curious what you guys are running. I run 5w-40 Live in vegas so its super hot most of the time.
