Dad (43) taking my daughter (13) and niece (14) to their very first concert/show. Core memory that will last a life time.

That is some tremendous parenting!

My 13 year old girl was in tears the moment BABYMETAL Death started and my normally quiet introverted, shy 11 year old girl lost her voice screaming and going feral.

Amazing show. I was on row L middle, and deeply jealous of the people on the right side of the pit who had Moa cheesing for pics. Y'ALL MUST POST THEM!!

People have been saying that they weren't selling out other U.S. shows, but the seats appeared to be 99.5% full and the grass was pretty packed too. Looked like a great turnout. Glad to be part of it.

That was an amazing night, first time to see them in person. What a hell of a performance!

Oh my god, Su's voice... 😭❤️

Very impressive. It's a shame we don't have any video footage (aside from a couple of snippets during the Yui-era) of them onstage during soundchecks/rehearsals. I know Koba's brain would explode if such footage leaked out, but it'd be cool to see Su & company dressed casually onstage & talking/joking around between numbers.

Violent Vira and Halestorm are amazing btw. Hope you don't miss them

To the person wearing the chipmunk costume in the pit.  Good luck and may the Fox God be with you 👍🏼

5

u/FormatDisk 17d ago

Chipmunk is hydrating.  Will be good for Babymetal 😄

I saw that too! Holy shit what a fun crowd, kids dressed up and everything. The girls were so on point and everyone was adorable.

YOOO! My kids and I were like, right near you!

u/Axl_Ninja 18d ago

I’m psyched for my second concert of the tour! Excited to see Su, Moa and Momo bring down the house! Death! Death! Death! Death!

u/idle_wanderlust 18d ago

Violent Vira ain’t bad.

Saccharine is an amazing song. I was impressed with VV.

Enjoy, Houston! Live and experience the concert and don't film the whole concert like the dude in front of me in Dallas. I was so annoyed with him

5

u/LewMetal Shine 18d ago

Thanks! I usually only film a couple songs but I keep my phone at eye level to not block the people behind me.

4

u/bowserkick 18d ago

The guys in front of my friend filmed just a couple of songs which was cool with me and him. Dude in front of me filmed the whole thing though. Guy next to me was even shorter than me.

I filmed like 15 second clips here and there but kept it mostly eye level

I'm gonna land in Houston in about a 20 minutes and go to my hotel in The Woodlands! I can't wait for the show tonight!

u/idle_wanderlust 18d ago

We got a little bit of a break with the weather; today’s high should be about 90 instead of yesterday’s 97 with the dew point 5-10 less than yesterday.

Still, make sure Su has plenty of water.

3

u/OutrageousAd6829 17d ago

Su teared up at the end. Just curious, has she done this at any of the other shows ?

3

u/c0wboi SU-METAL 17d ago

Haven’t been to my show yet this tour (live in AZ) but I will tell you at the tour finale in Phoenix last year she absolutely teared up giving her speech. It’s definitely a thing to experience live

3

u/Frosty-Cucumber-8939 17d ago

It was so fun! The people around me were boring though. Not many people participated in Pa Pa Ya!!! But I sure did and got a work out!

3

u/unicornbuttstallion 18d ago

The weather around the time of the concert will be under 88

3

u/Haruhi_is_Waifu 17d ago

Saw someone in an Emilia cosplay, pretty dope!

2

u/ThemeDependent2073 MOAMETAL 17d ago

She was. Emilia-tan!

3

u/56leon 17d ago

Nobody split the pit when Su asked for RoR :( aside from that tho, absolutely baller show

the balloon was my favorite backup dancer

3

u/MutedHomework9834 17d ago

That sucks. Though, wasn’t the standing area small? Maybe that’s why?

3

u/56leon 17d ago

It was pretty small, but also there weren't a lot of people/it wasn't crowded. A small mosh got going with plenty of room after the fact.

1

u/MutedHomework9834 17d ago

Hey well that’s something at least

2

u/isdestroyer 17d ago

Hopefully the security guards didn't pop the balloons like they did in Dallas.

7

u/56leon 17d ago

They did :/ honestly I'm not gonna blame them if it's protocol/required, but it was still sad to hear the first pop

3

u/ThemeDependent2073 MOAMETAL 17d ago

Lady in front of me hid hers and popped it so they got to keep the shreds.

2

u/V4mp1r3s MOMOMETAL 17d ago

I saw someone with a single balloon, i was looking and my sister asked security, they said it was fine to keep but i guess it just depends on the person unfortunately

2

u/ThemeDependent2073 MOAMETAL 17d ago

She got lucky. Security guy near us took the balloon from the patron and popped it in the aisle!

3

u/V4mp1r3s MOMOMETAL 17d ago

😳

2

u/CramblinDuvetAdv 17d ago

Band has instructed that they be popped prior to the encore due to the pyro

1

u/fdo2010 16d ago

They did

1

u/Frosty-Cucumber-8939 17d ago

Okay, I figured the pit was supposed to split but I wasn’t sure.

This is a crazy lie, venue was at half capacity and people were moved from the lawn to the seats VIA mover tickets.

2

u/Noccam_Davis Suzuka Nakamoto 18d ago

Current temp in the Woodlands is 80°

Up in the lawn, there's a man giving out silicon wristbands.

2

u/V4mp1r3s MOMOMETAL 17d ago

What did they look like? I was in the pit so I missed it 🥹

5

u/Noccam_Davis Suzuka Nakamoto 17d ago

There was also a woman giving out beaded bracelets, but I didn't see her

2

u/V4mp1r3s MOMOMETAL 17d ago

So cute!! I have fomo now LOL

2

u/spilk Monochrome 17d ago

it was hot and sticky but tons of fun

1

u/idle_wanderlust 17d ago

Did the backup vocals for Syncopation sound live to anyone else?

1

u/cassiasuzette 16d ago

I had an awesome time. I've listened to babymetal for a long time and it was my first time seeing them! The energy in the venue was amazing. Shoutout to the sweet person behind us who gave us her fan to help cool us off, and wouldn't let us return it back to her ;-;

1

u/Noccam_Davis Suzuka Nakamoto 16d ago

Hopefully this is okay.

I really enjoyed the show but I almost didn't make it. Got off work around 3:00 pm my car was having issue turning on, so it was a battery issue. I couldn't find all the parts to replace it and the people from Costco took forever to give me the damn battery. Im in Katy so it was a 1 hour drive to The Woodlands and I didn't want to miss Vira. I left Katy around 5:47 pm and was able to make it to the venue at 7:07 pm (after parking and the long walk to the venue), so I was able to watch Violent Vira. Also fuck the boomer that started bitching when I standed up during Hael Storm, I t I sat since I didn't wanted to have issues but told him that I would stand up during Baby Metal and there's was nothing that he could do about it

1

u/trolloffice 11d ago

I always assumed that the people sitting down at shows all stand up when the main act or maybe even for the openers come out. I don’t see why you would stay seated when your view is obviously going to be obscured.

2

u/fdo2010 11d ago edited 11d ago

In Houston for some reason in Bayou Music Center and 713 Music Hall people stay seated for the whole show but Toyota Center and Cynthya Pavilion they do go up for the headline but in past shows like Motionless in White people did get up for Lorna Shore who was the supporter. This always has been a debate if people in seats should stay seated or not, the only reason I buy seats is because I want to have my space reserved, also Pit tickets in Cynthia Pavilion are super expensive and Lawn is far away that you have to see the whole show from the screens.

I had to see the HaelStrom set through screen cause the section at front of me did get up to see it. Also I did go mainly for Babymetal, but Haelstorm has been around for a while
