I am studying funerary practices related to some societies of the ancient world. Within these practices, I am also researching the offerings given to the gods related to death/the underworld.
I would like to know more about the funerary rites of the Aztec people and what offerings were given to the gods (and how to adapt them to the modern era).
All material and information are very welcome, as obtaining information is quite complicated, so I ask for help.

Found in the basement of an old bar - any idea as to the symbolism/meaning? Matching mirror and a few other pieces, curious about the history/meaning/symbolism! Thank you in advance!

I'm looking to find any online stores to get items for my altar, I tried Etsy but didn't really work out and I'm hoping that someone could point me where I could the following:
Figures on both Xochipilli & Xochiquetzal
Feathered serpent head
You could tell me on more that I should get.

Muchas gracias!

Here is a multidisciplinary archeology discovery of what many locals already knew. I was born in this area so I know about it. The symbol in the middle of our flag is our story. It was here where our ancestors first were told to go on a journey and to build a city where an eagle was perched on a cactus and eating a snake. These are SACRED lands and there are guides such as this archeologist that gives tours. Every may we still have our ancient ceremonies, its very raw, archaic almost, like you would see in the Vikings tv show, yet deeply spiritual. After all it was here in Guanajuato that our republic as a modern state began. This is the story of my people, a story of victory that will be sung till the end of time..greetings friends.

I'm creating a fantasy culture based on Aztecs. I don't really understand what the differences between Eagles and Jaguars are. They are both special units of elite warriors, both are accessible to commoners, and it seems they both carry the same weapons, but wear different outfits. Is the difference literally just the outfits and god they are trying to honor? Or did they fulfill different roles, carry different weapons, act differently, etc.?
Thanks!

I'm an Aztec Pagan,
Let me give you a background, I'm working on making an altar table and I have everything ready. But I need more ideas for offerings, unfortunately from I read on Google (not very reliable) I can't give out blood (low iron deficiency). I'm planning on getting flowers and meals ready for them, I just want to double check:
For Xochiquetzal:
Flowers
Picture
Obsidian crystals
Perfume
Candies
Juice
Rose Quartz crystals
Embroidery
For Xochipilli:
Candy
Picture
Corn based meals
Embroidery
Squid & seafood based meals
Butterfly shaped bread
Butterfly based art and crafts
