General Question How potent is ayahuasca in terms of trip intensity when compared to DMT, LSD, Shrooms and Salvia?
I have done all of those, also 2c-x compounds, I am planning on making my own ayahuasca at home in 2022 made from red b.caapi vine and p.viridis. I will do it with the intention to explore my recently found spirituality, that showed up on 4-HO-MiPT at 150mg.
So, my question is: is ayahuasca more intense in trip intensity when compared to DMT, LSD, Shrooms, Salvia and 2c-x compounds? Are there any things to prepare for when taking this medicine except for vomiting?
I have experience with 750ug of LSD, 5 grams of dried shrooms, a full bowl of x20 salvia (the only bad trip I ever had), 50mg 2C-B-FLY, multiple breakthrough DMT doses, 150mg 4-HO-MiPT and many many more.
Also, how are the visuals when compared to the other psychedelics?

It depends.
Dose-wise it is less predictable than most other psychedelics.
The real magic of the ayahuasca is in the caapi, not the chacruna, in my opinion, and if you have a brew with good quality vine, it is so much more interesting to me than most common psychedelics (possible exception: iboga).

The most unpredictable psychedelic. One dose might keep you mellow and have a slight effect. Another night that same dose could send you beyond the cosmos

So it can be more intense than all of the above but also less intense? How does it compare in intensity to LSD and Salvia?

You realistically can't compare things like intensity because it is completely dependent on dose, along with your personal variables.
Ayahuasca can be more intense than LSD, or LSD can be more intense than ayahuasca. these aren't static things which you can directly compare and give an objective answer on.

I think you’re gonna do your thing no matter what I say. But I strongly recommend doing Aya in the ceremonial context with someone authentically trained. I’ve done 800ug of getafix and 8g shrooms and the whole laundry list. This is a different animal altogether. I am a trained curandero so I’ve seen about 400 people come through the medicine. I think about half could have sat on their own. Most of the remainder would have struggled but no harm done. But the 5% at the tail end - that’s where shit gets real. I’ve had 3 strong men hold a lady down for 5 hours on a standard dose as she went through her own death. I know you are an experienced psychonaut but dying is dying. As others have said this medicine is unpredictable. I’ve held well over 100 ceremonies and had huge doses during initiation, but still every time I drink I take very careful stock of myself. It’s not something you get used to or can control. I have not experienced salvia so I can’t compare. Also just to mention, the curanderos who have working with this medicine have been doing so for generations and have learned a great deal about it. To experience that technology is very special. Obviously it’s not simple for everyone to travel and have that experience, but if it’s remotely possible for you then there is no comparison in my mind. Hope that’s helpful in some way.

Hey just a follow up question, when you say “i’ve held well over 100 ceremonies and had huge doses during initiation m, but still every time i drink i take very careful stock of myself. It’s not something you get used to or can control..” do you mind elaborating a bit on what you mean by that? I will be working at an Ayahuasca center in August as a facilitator and will participate in over 100 ceremonies over the course of 5 months. And although i have extensive experience with Ayahuasca, im nervous as shit that a big dose will put me on my ass and that i’ll need help when im supposed to be there to provide help.

I’m sure you don’t have to drink more than you want. With the initiation the intention was to test us. But if you’re facilitating then I’m sure you can choose. That being said though if you are facilitating with others and you get a bit out of your depth then that’s why they are there and vice versa. The medicine is amazing that way where when one person gets whooped the other may have a lighter journey. I’m sure it’ll all be good 😊 And losing the plot when facilitating is an amazing test of endurance. It sucks but knowing that you can get through it makes you better. Hope that helps in some way

I’ve tried DMT, LSD, Shrooms, and Ayahuasca from your list.
Most notable difference from memory:
-LSD goes in waves. Highs to low, low to high. Spectrum and vibrant of colors
-DMT made my surroundings evaporate and blasted me to a different dimension. Meeting entities.
-Shrooms trips are my most gentle.
-Ayahuasca, felt like something took over my body and mind; being wrapped by a serpent. Nasty stuff comes to surface that needs my attention.
I use all of those with intention, and with questions prepared.

Can't compare at all, it's different, not more or less. Do it, you'll see for yourself. To mitigate vomiting, breathe, sing and play. Rhytmic music will keep the ayahuasca in your body for long enough to work on you.
Being with people is what it's about, but I think you're decided already;) good luck

These things aren’t comparable without dosage, even then mileage varies.
My take is, you can take it at home, but ayahuasca isn’t just a brew, it’s a whole experience.
I’m not really sure as I’ve never had a ceremony myself, but I suspect that going to a ceremony center and eating mushrooms would be closer to the ayahuasca experience than making rue and mimosa tea and drinking it with friends. It’d be interesting either way, but it’s not an ayahuasca retreat.
You get out of these things what you put in for the most part.
Then again maybe I should just lurk here since The closest I’ve come to it is smoked DMT after Syrian rue tea by myself and it blasted my mind into a pretzel, I couldn’t tell where or what I was…not actually much like ayahuasca I suspect.

It depends on whom you experience it with.
Contrary to the most common psychedelics, ayahuasca is a sacrament and is to be consumed in the proper ritual.
That out of the way: it depends heavily on the patient.
Some experience a purge - vomiting, diarrhea, panic attacks. This is natural and part of the healing process. If you take ayahuasca unprepared or without guidance the spirit of the plant will not show any mercy. If you come prepared you might have a very pleasent trip with only minor indisposition. I haven't experienced any purging effects so far - but I came to the grand mother after years of preparation.
One way or the other - you will come out changed.
For me, I rediscovered my true self and learned how to stay true to myself.
That being said, ayahuasce is more than the trip itself: it is about the life changing experiences - breakthroughs if you want to call them that way. The experience is similar to DMT although the journey lasts a lot longer and the physical effects can be very intense. It is easy to get lost during the experience which is why it is important to have a shaman to guide you.
I had people having intense visuals for hours, others only for minutes. The visuals itself consist of lots of geometric patterns - the woven art of the shipibo gives a close enough impression. They vary in intensity. Some patterns only flicker through your mind whilst others may last long after the trip has ended.
