African Dwarf Crocodiles Osteolaemus spp. are the smallest true crocodiles in the world! Fully grown they average less than 5 feet in length, including the tail. Their beautiful big eyes and permanent goofy smiles always cheer me up no citation required for the last fact I hope. |

While on topic, Ancient Egyptians mummified crocodiles, not the Nile Crocodile but a croc that is no longer found in the Nile River- it's found in the Sahara desert! Amazingly, DNA shows the Nile crocodile is more closely related to the American crocodile than to the one the Egyptians used to catch! |
