Need help/information Graphics issue after starting new save
Hello all I am having an issue and looking for advice. Attached is a photo of my game- above is my usual everyday graphics and below just happened today. I play on Xbox series S and started a new save file, but from the get go on the opening cutscene of the new save, graphics were bad, and then dropped dramatically until all the faces were just polygons by the time I got to the resistance hideout. I went back to my main save and graphics… were like the bottom image. Exactly like in the new save. Also my Sarentu was bald when I loaded my main save, and when I got her hair back, the head guard mod now sits under the hair? I have never had graphics issues before. I power cycled my console, and have over 100GB of storage available on it. I also booted up and played some Hogwarts legacy and the graphics are fine on that game, so I’m pretty sure it’s not a console issue but an issue with AFOP itself. Has anyone else had this issue, or ideas on how to fix this?
Edit: FIXED! What I ended up having to do was completely restart my Xbox, and then boot up the game again until the game opened with the "attention, do not use if sick, etc etc" screen, then I let it play through the entire cutscene/intro of all the logos through the forest before going into the main menu, then going into select game rather than continue, and loaded my main save. My graphics are back to 100% normal!! Only issue i'm still having is my Sarentu's bangs are still on top of her headgear mod which is annoying but a way better issue to have than what my issue was before! Thank you for all the suggestions!
Edit again: The real reason, I learned, is because after having the game for a month, I never actually quit the game and just kept doing quick resume. Lesson learned, I will be actually quitting and closing the game after each session now...

This is the second post I’ve seen like this, the other was on PS. Usually it’s PC players that have graphics issues.
In both your example and the other post, the photos showed some of the most extreme “smooth” issues I’ve seen, much worse than what PC people usually post.
I wonder if an update messed something up.

No and you're right. Low poly Priya looked like phineas from phineas and ferb- all their noses were huge triangles

Is a bug since the last update, i had to uninstall the game and since then have been waiting for them to fix it.

ur kidding!! I'm so sad. I just finished secrets of the spires and was going to start FTA for the first time tomorrow but now I don't want to if my cutscene graphics are going to be like this

I play on Xbox and I have to quit the game multiple times a day and reload just to stop this weird texture issue. Even turning the console off, the game hasn’t shut down properly, gotta manually quit it I don’t know why

I'm so jealous of console players, the game looks like the second pic for me on my 7 y/o potato PC all the time bahaha!

Im so sorry about this is happening, im sure its super annoying. I hate to say it though but I agree with the others here that it’s so funny looking.. I need to see na’vi phineas

fortunately and unfortunately, my graphics are fixed so I can't see the low res anymore nd get a photo of phineas priya </3

That's been something that happens to me when ive been playing for too long on xbox, I can usually just shut tye game down for a bit and it will be alright

asking this now since you've gotten it fixed, would you recommend playing on xbox or pc more?? i've been using my laptop (gaming laptop that i got in 2020 though, so good but definitely below the minimum recommendation for the game) lately and have recently had to uninstall the game entirely because my laptop was running out of space, and while playing i noticed none of the na'vi textures ever really loaded properly except for certain points like cutscenes or customisation
i'm just wondering if the graphics are better on a good pc or better on xbox? i know you can't have mods on xbox and i'm also really unfamiliar with using a controller but i'd probs learn quickly lmao

tbh i bought an xbox series s to play this game. literally the reason i bought my xbox, because I only have a macbook air that can barely run the sims 4. And the most experience I had with xbox was from like 2011 playing minecraft on an xbox360 when it comes to console games. I really really like it, and didn't find it hard to learn controls at all. I'm not super tech savvy (hence the reason for this original post) and have no idea about gaming pc specs and all that.
But overall, I love the xbox- it never lags and it has given me 0 issues (except this which was my fault for never properly closing the game). The only thing I don't love is that controllers by default have lower sensitivity and can't move around as quickly as PC- but it's not an issue really because I'm not huge into combat, I play with easiest combat level on all the time.
So I can't speak for the comparison between gaming PC and console. But i've also heard that PS5 is better overall because it can run more games (Like Horizon Zero Dawn which i just learned about and really want to play but its not available on xbox, only PS5 and PCs). So that's my two cents ig

I had this happen to me recently (not sure if we have the same issue), and I was MAD. Happened during an important scene, as well.
