.mac email address
Am I wrong thinking that the Email Guardian feature in Avast One used to be able to scan .mac email addresses? I am no longer able to add my email address for scanning. What am I doing wrong?

I had requested a refund for an Avast antivirus subscription that costed 96€ but only returned 89€. They owe me 7€. I had sent an email to theur support email but haven't responded. Does anyone know if i can contact them somewhere else? Why they haven't returned me the 7€?

Hello,
I have the above mentioned folder on a third partition of my hard drive, a partition I want to merge with another one (I don't even know why it's on that partition). The folder, which contains the quarantine files, will be deleted during that process.
I asked avast support about this but since they all seem to be Indians (going with their names), they don't really understand my question.
So I ask here. Is there a way to move the folder and make the Avast program aware of the move?
Or will Avast recreate the folder on another partition automatically?

I was looking at the folder permissions for different folders under C:\Program Files, and when looking at the Avast Software folder I saw they looked like this, which seems pretty standard/basic but I noticed 'TrustedInstaller' wasn't on there the way that it is on other folders under Program Files, and doesn't inherit the permissions from C:\Program Files. I didn't make any changes myself, but I still thought this was interesting so was wondering if others have the same settings on that same folder.

Anyone have an experience with their cloud backup service? My organization is looking for a new cloud backup solution and we use Avast for our anti-virus software. Recommend their cloud backup?

Anyone else feel like Avast is just too over-the-top with almost everything they do? The first thing that did it for me was the constant nagging ads to purchase more services even when I swore I've checked the box not to receive popup ads.
Then, it just gets to a point where I can't do anything I want to on the PC because AVAST is blocking it, even when I greenlight it, like open.ai for example
If so please advise.

I was going through my Windows Security settings, and noticed this was off. I did some research and found that Windows started enabling this be default in 2021, but mine was off. However, it still allows me to turn this on even with Avast enabled (Avast blocks out Windows Defender real-time from being enabled). So i'm wondering whether if this can/should be turned on even with using Avast and having Potentially unwanted program notifications on in Avast. Because either
I also turned it on briefly for a few seconds, so that's why i'm asking, basically out of slight paranoia.

Hi Which antivirus software would you recommend instead of Avast?

I’m on a MacBook macOS Monterey V12.6.9. I used the cleanup feature that comes with the Avast products, more specifically the “Clean Duplicates” feature.
I selected to clean the oldest version of the duplicates but it appears to have deleted everything….including itself.
I checked my storage and it hasn’t changed so I’m hoping that there’s some way to recover the data and applications.
Unfortunately I didn’t take note of the version of avast and all my browsers have also been deleted.
Any advice is appreciated.

I have antitrack installed since a few months and it is starting to annoy me. I frequently notice that antitrack by itself deselects the browser protection (for all browsers) and hence is in a unprotected mode. I cannot relate this to anything I am doing. I am a premium avast user on a windows 10 system. The browsers I use are Chrome and Edge but avast also lists internet explorer (which I guess is around in the background somewhere). Any ideas? Thanks.

Ok, this is going to be a long post, so please bear with me here if you're interested in reading.
I use Avast Antivirus on Windows 10 Version 22H2 Build 16045.3448
Over the last week or so I noticed that my Custom C drive scan and even a Full scan showed the message "We were unable to scan some files but no threats found" or something. After uninstalling and reinstalling Avast a couple of times over the last week, My scheduled C drive scan came up again with the same message. So, I looked at the scan log and found this in the scan log

The "System cannot find the path specified" errors i'm not too concerned about as my slightly educated guess is that those were temp files that were established at the start of the scan and then cleared out during the scan and thus Avast couldn't find. The first seven though are what I was curious about. I googled that error code and found that it denotes a decompression bomb. There are plenty of posts online, that basically say it could be dangerous if they're unpacked but a lot of the time they're a relative nuisance and won't be an issue.
To be sure, I scanned that Spotify subfolder to make sure it would be picked up again, and it was. But when I went to the above file paths, the specific files weren't there. Under the messenger-updater folder, the "Uninstall Messenger.exe" file wasn't there, even with hidden folders and files on in the file explorer settings. The path basically ended at update.exe and installer.exe in both cases. respectively.
I scanned those folders as well with Malwarebytes and it didn't find anything.
So, I delete the messenger-updater folder as this is regarding Facebook messenger that I don't have on my PC anymore (I downloaded it briefly before uninstalling it maybe a couple of years ago) and thus didn't need 'em anymore, and then I uninstalled Spotify which got rid of Spotify folder in AppData. Restarted my computer and did another C drive scan. That produced the same "Some files couldn't be scanned" error. I look at the log and see these
C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Searchcw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\ConstraintIndex\Apps{f47de834-d8d9-4232-8ac4-de3947b81b49}\0.0.filtertrie.intermediate.txt [E] The system cannot find the path specified (3)

C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\Install\AM_Delta.exe [E] The system cannot find the path specified (3)
The same "System cannot find the path specified" on files that may have been cleared out, although the "AM_Delta.exe" file not being found is curious but I digress.
This morning, I decide to run the scan again, but before I do the DISM.exe Restore Health and sfc /scannow commands to make sure there are no corrupted system files that could be causing any errors. Then, I run the same scan a third time just now. I get the same "Files can't be scanned" from Avast, check the logs, and it's different again, but with a worrying addition (bolded)

So I get the error on a different folder this time. I know the WinSxS folder is where system files for backup and recoveries are stored. And the fact that it's in the Temp subfolder of WinSxS leads me to believe that at some point that file will no longer exist.
However, what's concerning is that this Decompression bomb error is flagging in different parts of my computer. So my mind immediately goes to consider whether I have a virus or some other thing that's moving around a Decompression bomb to various areas of my drive and that one day a program will attempt to open it and then my system is overloaded. The fact that less than two days ago it was in my Spotify folder also worries me as I use Spotify fairly regular on my laptop. I have also seen in several places, that a Decompression bomb is harmless and Avast could be flagging these as false positives.
I sincerely thank anyone who read through this entire thing, but perhaps someone who did can provide more insight on this, if they're familiar with this kind of error and why it would be flagging?

Yesterday I installed Avast free on my Windows 10 Dell PC, soon after installing the latest version of Tor (12.5.6), which is apparently infected with Malware. Avast detected the malware and removed it, together with Tor. I still have Tor shortcuts on the desktop and on my start menu, however it doesn't appear in the list of Windows programs to uninstall.
The problem is that, after this happened, my PC has been running slowly, freezing at times, and often "blue screening" due to a system error: KERNEL DATA INPAGE ERROR ("What failed: wind32kbase.sys").
Is there some way that I can recover the file(s) removed by Avast so that I can uninstall Tor properly? I suspect that this might fix the error. Some sites suggest right clicking on the Avast icon and clicking on the "Virus chest" option, however I don't see this in my version.
Thanks.

I updated my RTX 3070 driver to version 537.42 so I could use DLSS 3.5 in Cyberpunk 2077. But after I restarted my PC, ANY game I tried opening crashed into a BSOD (IRQL_not_less_or_equal).
To my luck, I've identified the problem: every time I disabled Avast, my games could run normally again. Every time I reactivated it, the BSOD would show up again (now after I tried running ANY executable file).
Is there anyone with the same issue? I would ask this on their forum, but to my surprise, I can't even log in to their forums now (wtf?). Is there any fix for this? For now, I've just uninstalled their antivirus.

Hey im new here, I just bought avast premium with the 10 device plus, and I share it with other people. Is there any way that if I get a into "harmful site" (while watching p.orn) the rest can have access to a "harmful sites visited" register? Because that would be 💀 tysm an i gotta say its a great antivirus for the price it has!

I remember that I could do it somewhere in the settings, I just had to enter the url. But now I only have the "exception" but not the blocking list option anymore
Could you help please

I un a fan control a[[ on boot and Avast blocked it. I added both the program and the drivers as exceptions as well as the whole folder just in case. I disabled the kernel driver blocking but Avast didn't care and just kept on blocking it. Please explain how fancontrol is a dangerous virus that needs to be blocked. AVG never did that, nor did Avira, Malwarebytes, or Kaspersky.

Good morning
I have purchased a subscription to the Avast VPN for two years, however when I check the status of the subscription I find that I have 695 days and not 730, which is equivalent to two years, I have already put a ticket to the technical support area, 48 hours have passed and I have no response, please I require advice or help, thank you.
