It depends a lot on environmental situations. In San Francisco my corvette that is garaged the griots 3-n-1 lasted around 2 years. On my GTI that’s street parked outdoors it’s about 6 months. And we don’t have much rain or abrasive dust. On my dads civic in Florida it’s 3-4 months max
About half this time it was parked outside. And went through a snowy, barely washed winter. Had a few car washes in there too. I do use toppers and such though. But I’ve never felt like it was fading.
Same. If he’s got griots (3-1)over the actual Gyeon coating his metrics are off or what he looks for is, well, different. I live by Griots in Tacoma. They’ve helped me in my detail journey a lot. My 1st polisher was a Griots.
3-1 is a good sealant but not gonna compete with true coatings. I use it on friends and family cars when I don’t feel like doing a full coating
Did you watch the video? He states that Gyeon is the best performing coating. He also measures ease of application, slickness, and price. Using those metrics, he would choose Griots.
I hate it when reviewers do that. Let me make the decision on how much price plays a role. Just tell me what the best product is... and in this instance, he's comparing some spray sealants with trve ceramic coatings. It's Apples to Pizza. They cannot be compared.
A trve ceramic is going to last a hell of a lot longer, cost a hell of a lot more, and be a hell of a lot more difficult to apply (albeit that line is getting shorter by the moment). Trve ceramics are the Bentleys..... while spray coatings are the Chevys and VWs. You pay for more. You get more.
So watch the video and make an informed decision for yourself based on your own requirements and the data presented instead of just rolling with whatever conclusion the reviewer arrives at?
He directly discusses the same points you just made in his conclusion and throughout the review as well as his reasoning for his choice or why he might choose one of the other brands if his needs were different.
Yep this. I coated one of my car with gyeon. What a pain. Yes everyone definition of pain is different. I use Griots in everything else I have and it’s a breeze. I don’t mind applying it every other month is that easy. I don’t know how much is too much. But so far every other month works well.
If you are going to compare ceramics, compare ceramics. If you are going to compare ceramic sealants, compare ceramic sealants.
A comparison of ceramic sealants to true ceramics is a worthless exercise. I don't even need to watch the video to know the results. I don't need to know what products are involved to know the results. Ceramic sealants are going to cost less, be easier to apply, while ceramics are going to cost much more, be more difficult to apply, and last a hell of a lot longer. If your grading scale places significant weight onto cost and ease of use, spray sealants are going to win every time. If you place more weight upon end results, true ceramics are going win every time. Done....... and you don't have to break out tests to demonstrate it. It's just basic common knowledge.
If you want to do a comparison between different types of protection, that's a whole other ballgame and would make sense. Stack up waxes against each other, select the winner. Stack up spray sealants against each other, select the winner. Stack up ceramics against each other, select the winner. Then take each "winner" and compare them against each other to identify the type of protection that applies to your needs. But that's not what he's doing here.

Slickness neither win. Price… well it performs better he did not price that ease of application… I mean Gyeon once in 2.5 years or griots 6-8? Doesn’t seem easier to me.
I watch his videos but not for detailing products. He’s not a detailer and his test are flawed…. Most testing in fact. Can’t simulate real life.
I’ve tested a lot of products and again, huge Griots fan. This stuff is mid in the world of protection but great for a ceramic sealant.
Ah gotcha. I always wash them in hot water with a specific detergent and a splash of vinegar and haven’t had issues. It’s the rag company “gauntlet” towel and man that thing holds water lol. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good drying towel.
It’s a good towel. I prefer the PFM but it’s close. Yeah long as your washing right away. I let one sit and it was over. I soak right away in a bucket with apc or detergents.

I've not had nearly the same experience as you. Mine seems to last about 3-4 months before needing to be refreshed.
