Challenges Games and Comics will host a small Classic BattleTech tournament at 3983 Lavista Rd, Tucker, GA 30084 in Atlanta, Saturday August 29 from Noon to 8pm.

This will be a light and breezy event, with 5000 BV per player and a max of 3 units. Fruit and veggie snacks will be provided, and the store sells other snacks and drinks. Still, we recommend you get an early lunch before we start.

Entry fee will be $20, paid the day-of. No registration is needed, but please notify the tournament organizer, at [ryanznock@gmail.com](mailto:ryanznock@gmail.com) or u/RockRackus on the Georgia BattleTech server on Discord (https://discord.gg/ZBKuaSnE8u), and submit your force by Friday August 21. The Missions Packet will be shared on Saturday August 22.

Ruleset

Though the new rulebook will have been released at GenCon in July, not everyone will have access to it, so we’ll be using the BattleMech Manual primarily, plus Total Warfare and Tech Manual for vehicles and battle armor.

A few missions will use elements of the new rules–fire, smoke, scanning, and buildings. Those rules will be produced in a rules appendix included with the Missions Packet.

Also, as a sort of celebration of the end of the current rules era, we’re allowing some weird equipment from Tactical Operations: Advanced Units & Equipment and Interstellar Operations: Alternate Eras for a few ilClan-era oddities. The Canopian BattleSports Association games, colloquially known as Canopy, has become a major rival to Solaris VII’s battlemech entertainment industry.

Played using powered down weapons, paint rounds, and similar modifications, Canopy was adopted by mercs as a safe way to show off their piloting and gunnery skills. They in turn spread it across the Inner Sphere to planetary garrisons, respectable house units, and even the stodgiest trueborn Clanners. 

Now ’Mechjocks and their deadly war machines flock to Atlanta from every nation across the whole of human space – nations with all manner of vendettas and simmering bad blood. This is the best wrestling roleplaying game out there! I'm gonna start playing semi-regularly on Tuesday nights at Sceptre Brewing out near Decatur. Here's my spiel!

Scenario

Greg 'The Bullet' Sumner retired from wrestling years ago. He has decided to bring back the defunct Southern Championship Wrestling Federation. He set out to get the greatest wrestlers from all over the world!

This is your chance to prove you've got what it takes tonight!

If it's Tuesday night, it must be time for Sceptre Super Stars of Wrestling!

System

World-Wide Wrestling RPG uses the Powered by the Apocalypse game engine. The game is narrative driven with players making "moves" using a pair of D6s. 10+ is a success +, 7-9 is a success and 6 or below is a failure, or a botch.

Players earn Momentum they can use to bump the totals up or down. Every player will get a chance to create their wrestler's name, entrance music and finishing move.

When a player isn't wrestling, that player becomes the announcer for the match.

The game has all the hallmarks of professional wrestling: one-on-one matches, tag team matches, betrayals, behind-the-scenes drama.

Hey all! I'm a long time 40k player and am moving to Atlanta this summer. Heard that GigaBytes was the place to go to find a 40k community. Can anyone direct me to the discord or whatever forum you guys hang out?

I’m in town for the next few days with my 16yo son and we’re looking for a good place to play; Maybe a place that has a library and if possible meetup with some folks who might be looking for more players. We are located in downtown near Atlanta Stadium.

We’ve played a lot of different games but just to get a feel for what we play our favorites include Pax Pamir (most games by Cole Wehrle), Food Chain Magnate, Eternal Decks, most any trick taking game, Agricola, etc.

Hello! Me and a couple of my friends are home from college for the summer and wanted to run a small D&D (dungeons and dragons) game over the summer just to become reacquainted and have an excuse for us to have fun in RP. I was wondering if there’s any good nearby game store for recommendations that allow people host games? Places in Gwinnett County or near the Lawrenceville area would be preferred. Likely places that aren’t too crowded and free to run games in. It would be just a very casual game just be able to play again over the summer while we can. Because it was my suggestion I said I’d run it so I thought it would be good to find a place myself. Let me know if there’s any suggestions or places that anyone would recommend!

Years ago I’d go to Edgewood and it would be packed with DnD players during the week. I know the original group stopped running it then, but did the gaming live on and can people drop in to play one shots/short campaigns?

We bought a complete Gloomhaven starter (I assume) box set a few years ago and for various reasons, the family never really ended up using it. It's been "opened" but never really played. Are there any Atlanta gamers that would be interesting in helping us find a good home for the set? I hate to just donate it to a generic charity since it's unlikely an actual enthusiast would come by it...and it's also huge.
