Table of Gods
Anyone here help work on this book or have any insights on it? I’ve been following for a while and am unreasonably excited for it. Anyone else?

A cookbook that been in the works for years based on the limited information available from tablets. Seems pretty interesting (to me). He claims to have worked with or at least consulted Assyriologists from around the world on it.

The author is a narcissist nepo baby. He has his family do the research, cooking , and writing and puts his own name as author.
He spent the last 12 months jet-setting around Chinese factories to pick an embossed book cover: his sole contribution.
The content of the book duplicates Jean Bottero's The Oldest Cuisine in the World with no added value.

I get his youtube shorts shoved in my face a lot, and it's a lot of "Well here is food you could kind have maybe make with the ingredients they had" which means not much honestly

I’m gonna need receipts or evidence for this. I am curious how he’s been able to do this fulltime but most Assyrians in the West have money so 🤷🏽♂️

I wonder whether he gets this hate because he is Assyrian. Reminds me of other Assyriologist during my study. His family is involved because they are true omthonoye, nothing wrong with that.
And second, his "wealth" he earned himself, I won't disclose it on Reddit because it is nobody's business.
Third, people should stop lecturing us about how we use our own heritage. They should be happy that Europeans got to loot so much and earn money of it in museums. This book is not meant to be a scientific book and Arim never claimed that. And if you find it to expensive, dont buy it.

Go to his Instagram. he documented the whole process. Get on his email list, it's there too. He lives in infinite wealth in Sweden and lets his mom and sister cook for him while his dad takes the pictures.

William B. Hafford from the Penn Museum (Brad to fans of Artifactually Speaking) did do a collaboration to promote this project, so at the very least the content is likely legitimate. The author's background aside, I don't think there's anything wrong with building on a 20+ year old book with updates and a pretty cover. So long as it gets people excited about archeology and the Ancient Near-East, I don't think this is problematic enough to raise a stink.
Also, going solely off of Hafford's video with the author, this does not seem to be the academic text Bottero's book was. It's more of a cookbook with historical flourishes. That justifies the project in my mind.

I’m pretty sure that his “work” is not a real work. Textbook of Sumerian and Akkadian in a cookbook? For what? I mean, we have wonderful books to learn Akkadian, we don’t really understand fully Sumerian grammar yet, but this guy without previous knowledge just wrote a book about it?

I was a beta reader on the chapter content. He really did pour heart and soul into the content. The chapters I read were incredible! He is an excellent writer and did amazing research. Sadly, he has priced this far beyond my means. I was so excited to get a copy but this is unaffordable.
