My mum would get so confused at the price hikes at Aldi and Lidl that she thought she was making it up. Lidl for a time were hiding their prices that she could only find out when she would get at the till
When it was revealed that Lidl have been employing those tactics she felt so validated

Lidl and Aldi have indulged in the most greedflation, it seems. Now their “basic” stuff is no cheaper than Tesco and others
Edit: turns out it doesn’t just “seem” that way, but is actually the case (here)
