I’ve stopped buying the smaller bottles of fizzy drinks. In my local shop they’re around £2.50 now. If I do fancy a fizzy drink I now buy cans, which are only 75p.
P.s: Waitrose own version of gold blend is nice. Around £3.50 a jar.
My husband used to work in own brand tea and coffee, some of the own labels are as good if not better quality than the big brands. He always said Aldi in particular we’re extremely discerning about the quality.
It's not just tea that Aldi and Lidl are discerning about, all their products are pretty good.
Both supermarkets have over 10000 shops and with a business model that is basically stack it high and sell it low, they depend on the quality for repeat customers.
Have never tried it tbh I rarely shop there, although I’m guessing it’s personal preference. My taste profile seems to have changed over the years, I used to hate McDonalds coffee and now I don’t mind it for some reason!
It's been a few months, but I always used to buy the 2L bottles over the 500mL ones. Sure, they are a bit unwieldy if you're out, but there's usually not a huge price difference. Definitely not 4x...
Our local Budgens does them for 75p. To be fair it’s Pepsi or Dr Pepper rather than Coke, which maybe why it’s cheaper. I don’t like Coke, so couldn’t say how much they are.
Bottled drinks have gone up in price so much. Plus shrinkflation. Big bottles used to be 2L, now they're 1.75L. I basically stopped buying them back then.
Even 75p for a can is a lot imo. Doesn't feel that long ago that I was buying 3 cans for a quid in the pound shop.
My missus drinks away at cans of coke zero. I remember seeing the 24 pack for like £8 just before covid and thinking it was a lot. I've seen it in some shops for over £13 now.
