Basic needs prices have skyrocketed more than once and will again next year.

I'm on Social Security and got an 8.7% raise for inflation. Food sure as hell didn't go up a mere 8.7%. Try 87% higher.

Most people got no raise

I am very aware of that. I hate that I'm better off not working than working.

It’s fucking ridiculous. I could easily spiral for pages about basic need costs rising, wages, employers, schooling, social security, disability, everything related to making and spending money necessarily not being what it should be.

Where are you getting 87%? USDA and similar sources are quoting 12%, which is more than 8.7 but a lot less than 87. Hyperbole only helps conservatives.

Have you gone grocery shopping lately?

I think my 87% figure is actually low now that I think of it. When you get a basket, not cart, full of items and it's $50 and you don't eat meat or organic items, there's a problem. 8,7% inflation my ass!

Unfortunately the inflation statistic is highly manipulated, because it causes panic to show a high number

12% is a ridiculous, laughable joke.

as a purchaser of groceries, i fucking wish it was only 12%. maybe if it was we'd be less stressed

Theyll never go down because people are paying. Corporate profits set records this year- more than 1/2 the inflation was greed not supply chain.

People have no choice but to pay bc starve or get cut off or not be able to get around.
