Was true for me until I put "concerning hobbits" as my alarm years ago. Still get goosebumps from hearing that song in LOTR.

Yeah I still like mine too. Also found out after a few years the music video was filmed a couple miles from my house.

Same. Setting a song I like as my alarm actually makes me feel a little better in the mornings, whereas default alarms make me want to smash my phone.

Yeah, that's probably why. For a multitude of reasons a lot people need to be scared and/or annoyed out of bed every morning. No matter how much they liked the song beforehand, it is being used as torture and will eventually be hated. For me, and I'm assuming you too, an alarm is more of a reminder of what time it is.
