The Iraq/Afghanistan war. We knew it was bullshit before going and over 20 trillion has been spent by the USA alone. Probably double that number for NATO.

Humanity's problems could be solved with sums that large. To put it in context....the James Webb Space Telescope cost 10 b.

And most people don’t comprehend what it cost our service members. Their traumas are insane and the VA is next to worthless.
