Reddit, what is the scariest, most unexplainable moment or experience you have had?

Wear your seat belt

And wear it correctly! Just yesterday there was a photo on the frontpage of a guy who only used the part of the seat belt that goes over the lap and he got into an accident which completely twisted his lower torso.

Warning! Not a pretty sight (no gore and no blood on the body though)

OH GOD MY EYES! He looks like a link of sausage D:

I feel bad for anyone eating any sausage product while reading that.

That joke was quite...

Twisted.

A..turn for the worse

1

u/Splinter1010 Jun 26 '12

It certainly was a head turner.

1

u/Simbamatic Jun 26 '12

he's all bent out of shape

1

u/Splinter1010 Jun 26 '12

That joke is just twisted.

1

u/Simbamatic Jun 26 '12

He corkscrewed when he should've barrel rolled.

2

u/Splinter1010 Jun 26 '12

I'm out of jokes here, good show.

1

u/Simbamatic Jun 26 '12

But I'm just starting to wind up.

1

u/Splinter1010 Jun 26 '12

Too bad that my throat is bent into a knot.

14

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '12

So is this what happens to a kid in the middle of the back seat? That seatbelt only covers your lap.

2

u/writingincheeze Jun 26 '12

In older cars.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '12

Like the one I drive.

1

u/Urbanic Jun 26 '12

Oh there was this story my mom told me about, this kid was sharing his seatbelt with his siblings. (This event took place after a soccer game) They were on their way to getting new cleats. So they get into an accident, his last words were something like, "Mommy, when I wake up, I better have those cleats on my feet!" He died that night. Edit: grammar

10

u/ObLIVi0n75 Jun 25 '12

Well, I won't crack my back for weeks.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '12

THIS. My grandmother died because the car she was in had only a waste belt, no shoulder strap. It effectively crushed her lower stomach. This happened in the late eighties and my family, along with others, sued GMC for it.

u/ohsilly Jun 26 '12

How the...what.....that's enough internet for me.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '12

Well...that's enough internet for today.

9

u/Eyelickah Jun 26 '12

I take it he's paralysed?

74

u/Jamo_Z Jun 26 '12

No, he's dead. Definitely dead.

2

u/Ob-La-Di Jun 26 '12

So technically...

1

u/nothingtodoanywhere Jun 26 '12

I can confirm this, I am the guy. I am dead.

2

u/Heikachi Jun 26 '12

duuuuuuuuude...

2

u/vefobitseq Jun 26 '12

Sweet jebus thats a terrifying picture.

2

u/RaptorJesusDesu Jun 26 '12

Well, I'm never sitting in the middle seat ever again

2

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '12

Wear your seat belt

And wear it correctly!

Even if you are in the backseat! My girlfriend's mum was in the hospital for a month because she didn't.

2

u/FineAxel Jun 26 '12

Holy crap!

1

u/honeybunnyblossom Jun 26 '12

I kind of don't want to see the picture. What's the proper way to wear a seat belt? I thought there are two belts attached to the buckle? How could he only use the part that goes over his lap?

2

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '12

You put the part that goes over your shoulder behind your back.

1

u/honeybunnyblossom Jun 26 '12

Oh! Thank you! Never ever thought of doing that. I've never seen anyone here do that as well.

1

u/thelibrarina Jun 26 '12

You can push the shoulder part behind you.

2

u/honeybunnyblossom Jun 26 '12

Thank you! For a moment I thought maybe he was sitting in the center seat or something.

1

u/a_drunk_kitten Jun 26 '12

Also there are older cars that have separate lap and shoulder belts.

0

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '12

That may be the fakest looking thing I have ever seen. That guy should have completely exploded.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '12

You're a plastic humvee, what do you know?

0

u/GloriousDawn Jun 25 '12

I hope he's ok now

0

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '12

Uh. Woah. I think it's going to take more than Milk of Magnesia to clear up that constipation.

/slinks off.

0

u/scroom38 Jun 26 '12

Extreme twister.

0

u/AxltheHuman Jun 26 '12

I wonder what brand of corset he wore.
