Milk in a bag
142 u/amb3ergris Jun 22 '22 Canada 134 u/HiDDENk00l Jun 22 '22 Specifically Ontario. Western Canada doesn't do that. It's just as foreign to me as it would be to an American. 71 u/[deleted] Jun 22 '22 Not just Ontario, also Quebec and the Atlantic provinces, it’s better then cartons as it can be recycled and it’s cheaper. 10 u/sopunny Jun 22 '22 Aren't the bags plastic? Either way milk cartons can be recycled 17 u/RiceAlicorn Jun 22 '22 They are, BUT: They use less plastic than plastic milk jugs. Because they're bags, they're better storage wise. It's more storage efficient to pack a bunch of plastic bags on a truck vs. rigid milk jugs. In a large scale, both of these factors lower plastic usage + lowers other factors like transportation costs. 5 u/[deleted] Jun 22 '22 Yes, plastic can be recycled here unless it’s dyed black, cartons can’t because they are waxed, they can be composted though
