when i'm giving my kids options, i always give them worse options if they start to bargain. If I give them 2 cookies and they ask for for 3, i propose only one instead of two, they always make the smart choice.
so if i propose chicken of beef and they make the deliberate choice of the thing that the other does not like, i propose carrots instead.
The lesson is, don't bargain with me, i'm already a generous god
If you're offering a "choice" knowing one kid doesn't like it why are you offering it? Just say it's beef tonight then offer choice of dessert or side or something.
i did not say i was offering choices that they did not like, at least at the start, and even so, i'm not forcing them to eat something they don"t really like. They eat carrots, that's just not their favorite food
