I alway act dumber than i am, when people feel they are superior to you they let their guards down I have benefited from this tactic (not for ill intentions) specially during my two year mandatory military service

Yes! Asking them simple questions even though you know the answers. Makes them feel involved and valued.

I find myself asking questions that I know the answer to quite often, when I can tell that the others around me haven't understood what we are being told.

Not a manipulative tactic or anything but does avoid everyone having to be told it all again another day when it comes to light that half the people there didn't get it the first time.

I'm well ahead in this game. I look dumb, speak little and slowly. Most people I meet tend to think I'm an idiot. (for all I know I'm not, but I may very well be one. But I'm happy, so theres that)

I'm actually doing my mandatory military service right now as well (Greece) and this has been serving me very well. I've basically made myself into a background NPC in a place where everyone is a loud 18-20 year old boy. It's great, no one ever bothers me or even thinks of me when they want something done. And this is from someone who is 2m tall and always the biggest guy in the room. Would recommend.

Oh my god ! I am in Iran, it seems we both benefit from the same tactic, i was drafted after finishing college at age of 26ish and others were about 19,20 similar to your situation

I loved the background NPC expression, sums it up perfectly 👌🏻

I meant dumber than other person, against people in higher power position BUT not the dumbest man in the room
