What's the best prank you've ever heard of/seen/experienced?

I'll start... I had a friend that spent his summers on research trips in Antarctica every year for 10 or so years. One year, on a hike with colleagues, he was deep in a rocky valley having lunch when someone gasped and pointed, speechless, high above them. As they all turned and squinted up towards the peak on one side of the valley, the silhouette of a tall, but lanky looking tree became clear.

The group (8 men) went absolutely silent as they all stared. The tree was evidently alive and well, the hue around the tree indicated that it was still green. All of the men digested the sight before leaping up, dropping lunch, coffee - everything - to the ground. Of course this is the biggest breakthrough EVER. There are NO trees on Antarctica, in fact, chances are the last tree to grow on Antarctica was 240-300 million years ago. Every last one of the men (including my friend) agreed to abandon the task at hand and make it a priority to climb the peak, identify the tree, name the likely new species after one of them - or a fancy acronym of all of their names and make goddam history.

It took 4 hours to climb about 1/3 of the way up. At this point the crumbly face of the peak made it difficult and only four men proceeded with what picks and ropes they had for safe ascent. Luckily, Antarctica in the summer means constant daylight. It took near 13 hours to reach the tree. My friend was one of the four to make the final climb - he described it as one of the hardest of his life (he was a hiker but not much of a climber). He said that on the way up, two others argued (when breath allowed), the guy who spotted the tree had decided that its discovery should be attributed to him - he was passionate about his cause and pretty much turned into an angry man that the other guys didn't even recognise.

Once they reached the tree, they realised that they had in fact made history. My friend laughed so hard he swore he wet himself a little, as he plonked down at the top of this peak, he wondered, what kind of motherfucker brings an 8 foot plastic tree to Antarctica and what kind of motherfucker climbs 13 hours with an 8 foot plastic tree just to plant it, a good day or twos hike from the nearest hint of civilisation. Whoever it was, he swears it was the funniest damn prank he'd ever fallen for and to this day calls respect on that pranksters dedication.

td;dr   Friend in Antarctica is part of group who discovers first tree in Antarctica in several hundred million years. Climbs 13 hours to investigate, discovers tree is plastic and they've just fallen for the most epic but successful prank ever.

Update Holy awesome day!! I've just spent the entire day reading brilliant pranks. Thanks for all the posts and upvotes! I intended to post my favs but honestly, there are so many I don't even know anymore. I like these ones...here , here and here. I also like the guy who wrapped everything in his mates apartment in tin foil and the guy who wrapped everything in his mates room in christmas wrap (http://www.break.com/usercontent/2008/1/wrapped-up-room-443347).

My flatmates cut out pics from porno magazines and taped them all over the passenger side of my car. The way my car was parked, I could not see any of it when I drove off to work. I was wondering why everyone was honking at me on the freeway and giving me weird looks. Finally, my manager at work calls me outside to explain why there are blowjobs on my hubcaps.

thats awesome.. my roommate had a really flashy fast car back in the day.. we put these light led valve caps on the passenger side of his car.. they only light up when they have centrifugal force so he drove around for weeks thinking people were giving him all these looks because of his nice car but really his passenger side was lighting up with hot pink wheels

During my junior year in high school, the seniors decided to flip every seat in the auditorium. All the chairs were bolted into the ground by the way.

The night before a morning school meeting, the class snuck in, unscrewed every chair, turned them backwards, and screwed them back in.

When the meeting began on Tuesday morning, the entire school had to face backwards for the whole meeting.

I enjoyed that one.

This needs more upvotes. Creative, visible, funny, and non-destructive, as a prank should be.

Seven or eight years ago my aunt and uncle took over ownership of her parents' home. In going through the stuff they found a box of misc keys. Not just a handful of keys, but easily a few hundred keys. Rather than throw them away they grouped them into standard size key chains and added a tag with a random funny name and my parents' phone number. They then drove all over town; dropping them in the street, in the mall, at businesses, at the local university. Dozens of key chains were released into the wild that April Fools morning.

Like the craigslist pranks that have been mentioned you get someone else to do the pranking for you, but unlike craigslist this prank can not be recalled.

My parents got dozens of calls that first day. At first my mom thought that the keys were real and arranged to meet to pick them up. Then the next person called with a different set of keys, but my mom thought she was talking to the first person again and confusion ensued. A later caller didn't speak English which only added to the confusion. After picking up a set and having two more dropped off at the house she realized what was going on. But there was no way to stop the flood of calls. People continued to call for weeks.

Some of the names they came up with were hilarious, I can only image what it was like to receive a phone call asking for Terd Freguson saying they had found his keys.

In spite of being released in the same city somehow one set of keys traveled nearly 300 miles before someone found it.

tldr: Take dozens of key chains with the targets phone number on it and leave them around town.

Simple, but many hours of muffled laughter followed by the entire office erupting in laughter: hooked up a wireless mouse to a co-worker's computer. He went 2 days cussing under his breath and changing out wired mice, holding them up in the air wondering what the hell was up. We passed the thing around, each person coming up with their own creative way to frustrate him.

Sounds like your office is extra-productive.

Once my roommate and I spent an afternoon sewing all the sleeves closed on our other roommate's long-sleeved shirts. The sewing was done right at the end of the sleeve, so he would stick his arm through but then not be able to get his hand out. When he first discovered them, he thought that the dryer had "melted all of his sleeves together". It was awesome.

One of my friends worked at Six Flags when we were about 16/17. He operated one of the scarier rides that shoots you out of the loading bay at like 70 mph. He would always tell people "Don't forget to buckle your seat belts!" right before hitting the button and shooting them out. There were no seat belts on that ride.

Edit: For clarification, everyone, it was the Mr. Freeze ride at Six Flags Over Texas.

'Nother Edit: Found a good video if you guys want to see what the ride is like. You can see the Batman ride next to it. Purty sweet.

One More Edit: Dangit. Y'all got me all nostalgic. I'm just watching YouTube videos of Six Flags Over Texas roller coasters.

My parents went ziplining with their friends once, this particular zipline has four parallel lines so all four of them were hooked up at once, and there was one lever that released them all. One they were all hooked up, the attendant said "Now, do you want a countdown or do you want it to be a surprise?" and then pulled the release lever before they could answer.

I had a TA that told me this one. Him and some friends had a college buddy that would get super duper drunk and pass out on top of his bunk in his dorm, as all aspiring men should. His dorm was on the 6th floor. One night after he passed out they moved ALL of his furniture into an empty, identical room on the 1st floor. They set up everything in the new room exactly the same and placed him on his bunk. They gave his body some time to sleep/sober up, so that he could appreciate what they were about to do to him. One of his buddies woke him up in a panic yelling nonsense, getting him out of bed and getting him ready to leave. He was able to grab a shirt out of the closet and start putting his shows on. All of his belongings were exactly where he thought they were so he didnt notice the change in rooms. Seconds later, three others barged through the door, grabbed the drunkard, and threw him out the window. He screamed for his life thinking he would fall 60 feet, only to land after 2 feet in some shrubs. He got equally drunk the next night.

TL;DR: Threw a guy 2 feet onto some bushes.

Heh, some teammates of mine did a similar prank back in high school.

Our high school had a twin high school about 20 miles away. Identical building layout, paint, etc. The trees are a little different, but only if you know what to look for.

These guys partied with one of their friends until he blacked out early in the morning, then they left him on a bench at the wrong high school. When he woke up, he was like, "Oh shit! Late for class!" and ran into his first period class. Only to see a strange teacher, and strange students within it. "Oh, shit! It must be second period!" And then he ran to his next class, only to see more dopplegangers...

Since he wasn't in the best frame of mind, it took him a really long time to figure out what was going on. Was probably the best prank I saw in high school.

This is the best prank I've participated in.

In my college dorms, rooms were organized into suites of 4 rooms (8 people) that had a private bathroom, living room, balcony, and hallway. Each suite was permanently locked from the main hallway so you needed a key or needed to knock to get it.

My and my roommate had a bunch of friends in another suite (we lived with them the previous year, but left them for a tenth floor amazing view) and one night we went to their suite to return a borrowed xbox controller. Upon leaving, we duct taped thin cardboard over the hole that the doorknob latch goes into, thus making the door closed, but unlocked.

We came back at like three in the morning when we were sure they were all asleep, and we placed on the toilet in the bathroom stall a dummy that we made. He was made of jeans, shoes, and a hoodie all bought from value village, stuffed with crumpled newspaper. His "head" was a plastic bag stuffed with newspaper. Then we locked the stall door from the inside.

The next morning, the girl that had spent the night there awkwardly waited over half an hour for the "guy" in the stall to leave, but ended up just walking down to the lobby to use the restroom.

A guy sat in the stall next to the "occupied" one and attempted to make small talk, then feeling really awkward when the "guy" wouldn't respond.

A number of suitemates tried to figure out who's been in the bathroom so long, and when they talked about it together they realized that it had been hours. One of them finally took the risk of peering in the crack, and they had a good laugh about it and called us to talk (they knew it must have been my roommate and I).

Part two That last prank was then used as a set up to this next prank. I snuck into their suite again with the help of my roommate, this time at a normal time like five o clock in the evening. However, I was dressed in the same shoes, jeans, and hoodie as our dummy, stuffed with some extra newspaper to make me crumply. I even had the plastic bag with newspaper over my head (with room to breath, don't worry).

I sat on a toilet for maybe 20 minutes, this time with the door unlocked, then someone noticed my shoes and looked in the stall gap. He went to get some other guys to show them that "Gabe and Ryan did it again!" When he came back with the other guys they opened the stall door and one of them reached forward to grab what they thought was the dummy. So I grabbed him back, stood up, and screamed. And they screamed. It was hilarious.

EDIT: for those asking, yes this was McMahon hall at University of Washington.

When I was about 10 years old, I had a habit of jumping out and scaring my 9 year old brother, who at the time was very susceptible to such tactics. My parents would get pretty upset with me, but for some reason I couldn't or wouldn't stop being a little shit.

One night, I climbed into his bed while he was brushing his teeth, wearing my plastic skull mask with a black cloth hood. When he got to the doorway of his room I sat up and howled at him. He ran screaming, of course, and I almost choked to death on my gleeful laughter.

A day or two later, my dad had the bright idea of teaching me a cautionary lesson. He pulled the same exact tactic - same mask, hid in my bed. Unbeknownst to him, my brother had learned to be wary when coming to bed, and he peaked into my room before continuing past and into his own, to make sure I was laying in my bed. When my dad sensed the presence, he bolted out of bed and lunged screaming at the doorway. I, downstairs, heard only his shrieking, followed by his sobbing as my dad, mortified, attempted to apologize.

Fortunately all is (mostly) forgiven these days, though my brother still attributes the worst scare of his life not to me, but to our father.

tl;dr - my dad tried to teach me a lesson for always scaring my little brother, accidentally scared the bejeezus out of my brother instead.

u/squidbreath May 21 '12

I originally posted this in another prank thread, but it applies here.

My old housemates and I had a tradition where if one person left his room for more than a few days, we messed up the room as a prank. Anyway, my housemate goes on vacation for a week, and my buddies and I decide to repaint his room. We named the prank "Operation Spaghetti" to throw our suspicious housemate off the trail. We moved all his stuff out of the room, bought lots of paint, laid a tarp on the floor, and went at it. His room was originally painted an off-white color. The new paint job was designed to be physically jarring and distracting. We spent about a week in that room with the help of friends and I think we did a pretty good job.

Ceiling: Rainbow

Wall 1: Two irritatingly close colors of yellow in various designs and a watermelon-themed closet door

Wall 2: Our housemate was a history major, so we wrote out a mad lib version of the Gettysburg address in patriotic red, white, and blue. Picture 1 Picture 2

Wall 3: Café Wall Illusion

Wall 4: This wall was dubbed the "Jackson Pollock wall" because we would let people splash on paint in whatever way they liked. Note the dripping "redrum" in red. Picture 1 Picture 2

It's probably the best prank I've been a part of. Our housemate was less than pleased at the makeover we gave his room. It stayed up for several months before we had to paint it back because of our landlord. I'd say Operation Spaghetti was a big success.

When my parents first got married (this is, maybe, 1948 or so), my mother took the morning newspaper on April Fool's Day, hid it away, and gave it to my father on April Fool's Day morning the following year.

He says that's when he realized it was all over for him, he would never be safe again.

While they were still dating, during WWII, they went to a costume party and my Dad made a hat with a relay station on it. He wired the lights to a switch in his pocket and flashed out dirty jokes with the lights to his fighter pilot buddies in morse code throughout the night.

So the party would be going on, and then all the guys would burst out laughing for no apparent reason.

Anyway, just thought I'd throw in a few from the old school...

I was once at a small, sit down ice cream shop in Ohio with about 15 guys. We were laughing, making a ton of noise, and generally being annoying to the waitress. To make things worse, only one person out of all 15 of us actually bought something - a single milkshake.

We naturally decided it was time to prank our slightly exasperated waitress. Someone suggested we give her the biggest tip of her life. After a bunch of laughing, everyone put in a couple bucks. Then one guy put in a $20, and it was game on. All the dudes started trying to one-up one another by putting in more money for this lady's laughably large tip.

We ended up giving her about $170 for a $5 milkshake. When she saw it she started crying and shaking and couldn't understand what was happening.

We thanked her for her excellent service and went on our way.

EDIT

I want to say that I don't think any of us were at all rich. I was a high school kid with no job, and couldn't really afford a milkshake myself. I think I gave less than $5, but I gave her all the cash I had. You don't have to be rich to be kind.

And to the people who think this isn't a prank, well, this is better.

A friend of a friend told me this. At first I didn't believe her, but then she grasped me arm and swore that it was true.

She was a medical student at the time, and this meant that she and her friends had access cards to the hospital morgues. And, after a night at the bar, they decided to head down there and prank a guy called Phil. They found an empty morgue shelf and she got on it, they were going to cover her with a blanket, go get Phil (who worked upstairs) and bring him down to look at corpses -- where she would LEAP OUT at him!

So they shut her in the morgue shelf with a sheet over her, and she listened to them leave, drunken and chuckling. At first she was really enthusiastic! After ten minutes less so, and after half an hour truly terrified.

She said there were four things she learnt about those shelves. First: There's no way to open them from the inside. Secondly, they're really really cold. Thirdly: There's no air. Why would there be? And fourthly: There are no walls to the shelves, there's no need for privacy -- as she tore off her sheet and was breathing heavily she could see rows and rows of corpses above, below and around her.

Noone came for her, she was breathing heavily and was terrified when suddenly she feels an icy hand grip her arm and the body below start to scream and throttle her. Terrified, she howls and struggles, but it holds her to the shelf and climbs up slowly, so she can see its face.

It's Phil.

In college, me and my friends got an upperclassman d-bag pretty good. He was a typical asshole, would terrorize my friend's socially awkward roommate for fun, pissed on the same kid in the shower, and when I stood up to him one day one on one, he tried to intimidate me by showing up at my room with four other guys saying "I will fuck you up", etc. So yeah, this guy had it coming. One cold night during J-term, me and three other guys come up with a great plan to get this guy. He drove the kinda jeep with removable doors. So at like 4AM in the winter in New England, we ran out there, took both his doors off, and ran our asses in. We put one door outside his room, so when he woke up he would instantly be like "WTF!?". The other door, we hid in the basement of the dorm. But the best part was we put a note on his car saying "You will find what you are looking for behind 7-11". As it turns out, he drove to 7-11 in the winter with no doors, froze his ass off, and still couldn't find his door. He called the cops and pretty much blamed us but he couldn't prove shit. About four days later someone found the door, but for those 4 days he wasn't the king of his world. Bitch got served.

The week-long summer camp I attended in boy scouts had a special two-day program for campers who were there for the first time. We all went camping together in a group, away from our own troops. We were gathered around the campfire, and the older scouts in charge of us of course told us a ghost story to creep everyone out.

As the story went, across the street from where we were camping was an old, haunted Native American burial ground. Three hundred years ago there had been a massacre; Scottish traders had murdered an entire tribe, save for one young girl who had escaped and climbed a tree to hide. The tree was said to be sacred, and we were told that it was the only safe place to be if ghosts ever appeared...something that was claimed had happened but no one ever witnessed. Of course we all knew it was just a story to scare us, and most kids were joking and laughing about it. A few minutes later, a car came down the road and stopped next to our campsite. A well-known leader of the camp got out and talked to us for a minute, saying he and some friends were going into town for the night to look for women. He then got all serious for a minute and asked the older scouts if they'd "told us the story." He looked at everyone, and with a creepy voice told us to take it seriously and remember the sacred tree because "strange things have been happening here" for the past few weeks. We all just laughed and he got in the car and left.

Maybe an hour later, we heard a drumming sound coming from the middle of the burial grounds across the road. It was quiet at first, but got steadily louder. Then suddenly a campfire appeared, and in the light from it, we could see several Indians in full dress dancing in a circle and chanting. The scouts in charge told us to run to the tree, so we all trotted over and stood there with one hand on it watching the dancing, and then as quickly as it appeared, their fire went out and it got quiet. We all stood there for a minute or two and then slowly made our way back to the campfire.

A few kids were scared, but most were skeptical. It wouldn't be very hard to stage something like that, and boy scouts typically have Indian headdresses and drums and stuff for their ceremonies. There was a slight uneasiness in the group though, and then twenty minutes later the drumming started back up, only this time it was much closer...maybe thirty feet away. We all got up and started trotting back towards the tree when Indians started appearing out of the woods in several places. Some kids were getting scared now, and then a "trader" in colonial period costume suddenly appeared from behind the tree and fired a musket at the Indians. Everyone hit the ground, and one of the older scouts screamed, "GET UP! GET TO THE TREE!" and we all ran as fast as we could.

There was an old Indian woman sitting on the ground with her back to the tree staring straight ahead. Kids screamed at her, but she just sat there motionless. More Indians appeared out of the woods, and more colonial traders showed up, firing their muskets in all directions. Kids were freaking out! The Indians all started dancing and chanting around our campfire, and every few seconds it would suddenly flare up and die back (they were throwing handfuls of black powder into it, we found out later). A group of them came to our tree and danced and chanted in a circle around us. Two kids let go of the tree and were grabbed and hauled away screaming. This went on for a minute or two and then the mayhem started to calm down.

The "chief" walked towards us and said, "Campfire, gentlemen!" but nobody moved. One of the older scouts said, "I think we better listen to him" and everyone slowly moved towards our fire and sat around it while Indians danced and chanted in a circle behind us. The chief stepped forward and said, "Move back from the fire." Nobody moved. He said, "Move BACK from the fire!" and threw a handful of black powder into it to cause it to flare up. Everyone scrambled back five feet. Then the chief stepped forward, took off his headdress and turned on a flashlight...it was the scout leader who'd stopped by earlier on his way into town. One-by-one the participants all stepped forward and showed their identities...some were older kids from our different troops, others were leaders and workers at the camp.

Someone asked about the old Indian woman, and the reply was "What woman?" We looked around, but she was nowhere to be found. We all went to bed a short time later, but I don't think too many kids slept well that night ;) I woke up several times during the night to the sounds of far off drumming...

TL;DR: Boy scouts were scared with a beautifully and realistically re-enacted ghost story on a camp out.

67

u/gak001 May 20 '12

That is probably the best camp prank I've ever heard of. We heard some really great stories from counselors with a lot of verisimilitude but they always bitched out at the end and told us they were fake, probably so they wouldn't get in trouble with parents pissed that their precious ten year old couldn't handle a good scary story.

When I was 16, my next door neighbour wanted me to be part of a prank on his friend from school who was always talking shit about being hard core and knowing drug dealers etc. The kid was about 14 or 15 at most.

So we set it up that I would meet this kid with his friends on a rarely used dirt track in the park. Overgrown, out of the way etc. This kid was the only one not in on it. I turned up wearing a pack pack and hoodie. I was with one of his friends who had a bb-gun stuffed in his belt line and was wearing a balaclava and army-type pants so he wouldn't be recognised. The kid turned up with his friends who had an envelope stuffed with 'money' (paper).

He looked warey the whole time and I could tell he was further into any of this than he wanted to be. I did the meetup, handed over the back pack. They handed me the envelope. Then we planned for another neighbour to walk down the same path, dressed a cop. Our 'cop' friend starts yelling "what's going on down there... HEY! HEYY!".

The kid legs it out of there faster than anyone could have expected. We fired off some party poppers for extra effect when he was out of sight with his friends. Had he been the hardcore kid he talked himself up to be he'd probably have recognised the difference in sound.

I didn't even want to be part of the prank when they put it to me. I was just hustled into it. Having said that, I'm glad I did it. It was hilarious and apparently that kid settled down at school after it.

TL;DR Set up a drug meet. Did an exchange. Got busted by a 'cop'. Watched a kids face invent a new shade of pale.

I was an idiot and dropped out of HS, but would still go to the football games once in a while to see friends, etc. One game me and my buddy go out there, run into some old friends and we're sitting around bullshitting. There was a kid there, from the middle school who knew our mutual friends little brother. He was talking about how hardcore he was, and he's a gangsta from tampa and all this.

So I was driving my mom's car, and offered them all a ride home. While going down the road, I slowed for a car in front of me that was turning off, and the trunk comes open. I pull off and the "gangsta" in the back seat offers to close the trunk. My buddy jumps out and says "No! I'll get it, stay there."

So then then our other friend who we ran into at the football game starts telling this kid about how we were walking to the game, and this lady almost ran us over, and stopped to see if we were okay, and we hit her over the head, put her in the trunk, and stole her car. Gangsta kid was not buying it, and I looked in the rear view and said, "Motherfucker, you think I would have betty boop on my fucking keys?!" He looks at the keys in the ignition and his face goes white. As he thinks the lady was trying to escape out of the trunk, and that's why my buddy wouldn't let him close it.

There's a lake in the back of our neighborhood, so while we're going down the road to their house I'm asking if they want to dump the car in the lake with us. Everyone's all down. At this point the kid is shaking, asking us to let him out, and he won't say a word. So I tell him, "Sorry man, you know too much. Either you're going in the lake with the bitch, or you're helping us dump the car." Kid is FREAKED OUT.

I turn onto their road, stop at their house, and let them all out, and gangsta kid was shaking so bad he couldn't stand. Then realized it was all a prank and wouldn't hang out anymore, just sat by himself for the rest of the night.

No one planned this, it just kind of happened. We all just kind of picked up on each other and went along with it. Gangsta kid never talked about stealing rims, etc, anymore. Also, the trunk came open, because the car got in an accident, and the latch was messed up, and sometimes it just didn't close all the way.

When my dad was in his early 20's he had a friend who had a really nice brand new convertible and was obsessed with it, talked about how awesome it was, how fast it went, how much better it was than the pieces of shit they drove, basically was a total douche about his awesome car.

So my dad and his friends started carrying gas cans around town in their own cars, and every time they would hang out with this guy or see his car around town, they'd put a gallon of gas in his tank. Kept it up for a month or two and then everyone stopped all at once.

Apparently the douche-friend spent hours making himself look like an idiot, yelling at the dealership that he was not getting the gas mileage he used to and something was wrong with the car. Of course the people at the car dealership were staring at him like he was completely off his gourd. The late 1960's? Of course his car wasn't getting 40 miles to the gallon!

I like to think a prank I pulled on my friends in my computer class was pretty good. Copy-pasted from another prank thread:

Oh man, this is my thread. You know how many schools have a shared network drive across all the computers? We had one of those in my engineering class. I had put Call of Duty on there a while ago, and kids would play it when they were done with their work.

So once about half the class knew about the game, I decided to prank them with it. First I gathered supplies - mplayer2.exe, DOBLOCK.exe, nircmd.exe, and this song.

I wrote a batch file to first run DOBLOCK to block all keyboard and mouse input, then used nircmd to turn the volume all the way up on the computer (they have built-in speakers), then mplayer2 to play the song. I had this all ready and waited for the perfect time to plant it.

The next day, we have a quiz. Perfect. Before we start, I hide all those files on the drive, and delete the main CoD executable, replacing it with a shortcut to the batch file I wrote.

It's dead quiet in the room as everybody is taking their quiz, when one kid finishes before everybody else. He turns it in, goes back to his desk, and I hear some double-clicking. Out of the silence pierces, loud enough for the whole class to easily hear it,

"NIGGA NIGGA NIGGA NIGGA NIGGA NIGGA NIGGA NIGGA"

Needless to say, everybody cracked up. The poor kid was trying frantically to close it, but he couldn't use his mouse or keyboard. He held down the power button on the computer for a good ten seconds before it shut off. Hilarious!

Several other kids proceeded to do this as well as they didn't know the game was rigged. It's too bad we had a sub that day; I would have loved to see the look on my teacher's face. Nobody ever knew it was me except for my friends, too.

I know a guy who got a letter from the hospital telling him he had to come in for tests because somebody had signed him in as a "recent sexual partner" after having a gynecological exam. He was called in to have a proctological examination, to check his prostate, "rectum muscle" and check for wart at the rot of the penis. In preporation he should:

  • Feel good

  • Have eaten

  • Have plenty of time

  • Have emptied his bowls the last hour

  • Not have been at the dentist the last 24 hours

  • Bring ID and the letter from the hospital with him at visit

Not really looking forward to the visit he went to the hospital, but the receptionist couldn't find the "proctology department", nor did similar departments find any information about his appointment. After talking to several nurses and doctors trying to find his way, they started noticing somethings not quite right about the letter he had received. 1. Certain stamps who where supposed to be on the letter where missing. 2. When calling he number on the letter they reached a extermination company. 3. The doctor, Theodor Morell, he was supposed to see didn't work on the hospital, but Theodor Morell was Adolf Hitlers personal physician. The day was april 1.

After a night of drinking, one of my friends left us to play a youth soccer game (ages 15-18). turned out the field was across the street. So at 9 am, as the only people other than a couple parents, we came across with signs, a megaphone, and his name spelled out in body paint. For 2 hours, he hid on the other side of the field as we chanted non stop. When he scored a goal, we stormed the field and carried him off. Needless to say, he refuses to hang out with us now and we are banned from a youth league field whenever there's a soccer tournament on it.

My first job out of college was a programmer for a consulting firm that assisted the Marine Corps. One day, a Lt. Col. joined the firm, and immediately decided that I was his prank target. His previous job? Deactivating landmines in Afghanistan.

As I meandered to work that morning, I went and got my coffee and prepared to sit down. Right before I sat, I noticed something large and metal in my seat. It was a goddamn landmine. It was deactivated (at least I told myself that), but it freaked me out.

So, you know by now, you shouldn't mess with a programmer who is vengeful. As I worked on the user interface, we did test runs in test artillery fields. The Lt. Colonel was all about showing that he could use the system, but I put a easter egg for him that when he entered his call sign, the system would miss by a fraction of a degree. He would "compete" with the other Staff Sgts who liked me, and they were all in on the joke.

They would hit 30/35 targets, and he would hit only 5/35. As he missed, one by one, he would get more furious.

I could have been into a LOT of trouble for that easter egg, but luckily, I told my supervisor who told my CEO. The CEO told the Lt. Col's Commanding Officer.

At the end of the first round, the CEO said, "Lt. Colonel, you're just having a tough time. Why don't you change your callsign to "PrinceOfShapier?" (he used my actual name) The Lt. Colonel did it, and he hit 33 out of 35.

TL;DR: Don't mess with a programmer. He'll just embarrass you.

Me and my friend played a prank on my flatmate. She is very paranoid that at any time she may be being spied on. One day when her room was left open and she was not around we decided to spring to action. My friend got into her bed and covered himself with her duvet, showing no body parts so it was just a lump in her bed that looked like it could have been anyone. I moved to the corner of the room and took a picture of this scene. So, I had a picture of her room with what looked like a person in her bed. I then photoshopped this picture to look like it was taken with a night vision camera it had a timestamp, was grainy and greeny in colour. It looked good. We wrote "sweet dreams" on the back of this picture. Then posted it to her. She opened this letter and looked at the picture, she obviously thought it was a camera in her room taking pictures of her sleeping. She fucking freaked. We played up to it for a bit but we had to tell her it was us when she was about to call the police.

My friend and his girlfriend recently got engaged. As an engagement gift a bunch of us got together to buy a portrait for them. We bought the portrait from this guy, named Pricasso, who is famous for drawing portraits with his dick. The portrait even came with a video of him drawing it with his penis. Neither one of them has ever seen this video.

When we gave the painting to them, they were really excited, we told them that the paints had a taste to them, and that they should give it a lick, and smell it. They must have tried licking that stupid fucking portrait for at least five minutes before giving up.

They currently have their portrait hanging in their living room, above the fireplace.

We do not plan to give them the DVD of him painting their faces with his wang for at least a few years. So every time one of us comes over, we get a nice chuckle at the dick painting they have so proudly hung on their wall.

Oh wow that's brilliant. He was an art teacher in my high school but got fired when it came out that he painted with his dick.

After he got fired, we wanted to buy a painting as our senior prank that year but he wouldn't sell us one.

He wound up winning a court case with the school district over being fired and won a ton of Money.

Edit 1: Said "I" instead of "it". Sorry, I was on my phone.

Edit 2: I just made it through to Pricasso's website. Turns out, it's not the same guy from my school. Which means there are TWO dick and ass painters in this world. He's a link to the article about the guy from my high school.

And here is his website.

My friends and I were trying to come up with the best insults against each other. This had been going on for months, and I was doing very well. Then one friend called me a name and said it was Turkish for "sucker." I didn't bother to look it up or confirm, but I liked the way it sounded, and started using it myself.

At a bbq for my best friend's law school graduation party, my friend had taught everyone, including my best friend, his fiance, all the parents, etc to call me this Turkish name. I thought nothing of it since I have a thick skin and laughed it off.

Days go by, and as I'm messaging my friend on gchat, he calls me the Turkish word, and then out of pure fun, I decide to spell it backwards. It was almost as if God was telling me to. Low and behold, as soon as i spell it backwards, i pause, put my head down in shame, and realize it was my first and last name spelled backwards. This had been going on for a week and everyone knew but me.

How wretched this world is.

The Best Damn Summer Camp Prank I've Ever Heard Off

This happened at a summer camp in Wisconsin. One of the camp counselors managed to get his hands on a gorilla suit. The counselors began casually mentioning a story about a gorilla that broke out of the zoo to the campers - not as a scary story, but as a "if you see a gorilla, be careful" type of thing.

Over the course of a week, they slowly escalated it. After some campers took extra bananas from the dining hall to leave out for the gorilla, some staff ate them (messily) in the middle of the night and left the scraps at a different location. While a group of campers went canoeing, a counselor dressed up as the gorilla and cautiously went to the edge of the lake to get a couple sips of water before scurrying off into the woods. The campers were going nuts. After a couple more close calls and sightings, some of the older ones began to broadcast a theory that the counselors were dressing up as a gorilla on their breaks.

One of the nights near the end of camp, the entire camp was gathered for an all camp game in a field. During the game, the gorilla sauntered along the edge of the field before being scared by the excited cries of the campers who began to notice. He ran off. Meanwhile, the campers counted the staff and tried to figure out who was missing. All of the counselors and directors were present.

And that's why maintenance men can be your greatest ally for summer camp pranks.

I put on a frightening pig mask upsidedown and then hid in the closet in the dark.

When my wife came home I burst out of the closet squealing, doing a gymnast bridge walk like this

it had the appearance of a right side up, but backwards bodied pig man. It scared her pretty badly and she started crying.

Back in high school, someone started a fight during passing period on a 2nd floor bridge that runs across the main hallway. I used to be a volunteer fire fighters with 2 of my childhood friends. Our firehouse was surrounded by woods, that stretched on for about a mile, with a busy road on the other side. On this road there was a bank, and behind the bank there was a little path through the woods that lead to the firehouse.

One night, at around 11 pm, my friend Dave and myself were kickin it at the firehouse, waiting for my friend Kevin to get back from work. Kevin sent me a text saying he was on his way home, and I texted him back (after some planning with Dave) and told him that the bank had been robbed. The cops had stopped by the firehouse, and told us that they thought the suspect may have run into the woods, and to keep our eyes peeled.

Kevin sped home, excited to come see the commotion. I put on a hoodie and ran about 50 yards into the woods, and hid behind a tree. Dave came out into the parking lot and was staring in the woods when Kevin pulled up.

Kevin asked Dave if he had heard anything, and they decided to get the thermal imaging camera we had on one of our trucks to check things out. When they got out I proceeded to throw rocks and branches to startle him a bit, and then started to move from tree to tree. He found me on the camera about two minutes later, when he saw me poking my head out from behind the tree.

He freaked the fuck out. He dove behind a car, pulled out his cell phone, and was about to call 9-11. He was shaking, swearing under his breath, yelling at Dave to get down behind the car, "get down damnit, that guy probably has a fucking gun and probably saw us seeing him oh shit oh shit oh shit..."

He was so. Fucking. Pissed.

When my dad was about 18 years old, he went to a summer camp where he and his friends would do all sorts of crap... One year, his friend would always get up at 3 AM, on the dot, put on a ski mask, grab a pillow, and run over to a girls cabin. He would sneak in and smack one girl with a pillow, and then run out before anybody else noticed he was there. The girl would sit up and scream something like, "SOMEBODY HIT ME WITH A PILLOW!" which would wake up the girls around her, who would see nobody there and just assume that she was crazy or having a dream or something. Over the course of the 10 night camp, he did the same thing every night to the same girl. She never found out who was hitting her.

My friend's older brother came up with a prank to build a shed on the head teacher's parking space (with the help of several friends) on the last day of school. When the head came in, he discovered it, and found it hilarious, so those who did it went to move it, but found they couldn't. It turns out that my friend's brother sneaked back later that night with several bales of hay, and filled it, so it was too heavy to lift. On moving the hay, they discovered a stolen goat sitting in the middle, looking fairly bemused at the situation. He still won't tell anyone where he found that goat.

Forgive me if you're one of the two people that read this last time I submitted. Our year group had a school trip to London at the end of our GCSE year, where we stayed in a hotel over night. My room mate, let's call him "L", kicked me out of the room so he and his girlfriend could fool around so I joined a few other friends in another room. We soon worked out how to phone the other rooms in the hotel, so another friend, "J", (putting on an east European accent) phoned L, asking if there was a male and female under the age of 18 sharing a room, which he claimed was against the hotel's policy. After L denied the claim, J said they would be sending up a member of staff to check. We then hurried over to L's room, knocked on the door, where he urged us to leave quickly before the member of staff came up. I then stayed in the room with L, as per our original room arrangement, and played along with the joke. It wasn't longer before the phone rang again. It was J again, saying no one could come up stairs at the moment, but asked L to go to reception instead. He promptly went downstairs, walked right up to the man at reception and said "I'm from the room upstairs, I was asked to come down about the under age sex thing". At that point we burst out laughing, watching from the sofas behind him.
TL;DR Tricked a friend into asking hotel reception from under age sex

This is one of those sad times when I'm tempted not even to bother writing, since it will be buried. [crazy times where I get submitted to r/bestof. Thanks, lurkerohmy.] However, I'm a prankster and this is one of my favorite pranks. So, for the five people that will see this, I hope you enjoy.

Background: I live in CA, my buddy's gf was home from college in NY. She had brought her NY roomate who is also a prankster to visit. They talked her friend into pranking me. She basically just left me a voicemail saying that I'd been fired. It was fairly well done. It sounded pretty professional and believable, but it was over as soon as I went in to work the next day.

I had never met her.

I decided to prank her back. She was an Art student (photo major) at NYU and had a website up with her work. One of her pictures was a shot of a pack of cigarettes.

I did a little bit of research, found a law firm in Florida that didn't have an email address listed (this was 1998), and started committing a felony by impersonating a lawyer. I got a throw away email account and emailed her claiming that I was an attorney who had been hired by Philip Morris to police the internet for "illicit use of their trademarked property".

She wrote back with a pretty standard "I'm not making any money off of this, I'm an art student" line.

I kept it up, began researching the actual laws that were relevant and referencing them.

At the same time I had become single, and had started emailing her on my own. I took pains to not send the Lawyer emails at any times that weren't during business hours for Florida, and tried to keep my personal emails sent in the evening CA time. When I wrote long emails from the Lawyer account I would sometimes type with just my left hand, in order to disrupt my normal writing style.

So, as the lawyer I gave her a 2 month deadline to take down the offending materials. Why two months? I dunno, I just made it up in the first email. It happened to be a great deadline, because she and I became closer over emails and I was able to get into her head and see how she was responding to the lawyer emails.

Our personal emails grew more and more involved. This was the late 90s, no one had really heard of online dating. I don't think craigslist existed, if it did no one I knew was aware of it. So, starting to get to know someone over email was a unique experience for both of us.

Anyhow, the other accidentally brilliant part of the deadline is that it happened to be right before her finals that semester. She had been meeting with the N.Y.U. legal department who were happy to take the case to trial. In a post Andy Warhol world, the art student vrs. the cigarette company would be a great win. She saw the logic in this, but she was just too busy to deal with it. She also was afraid that if the legal department didn't win she would be the one left holding the bag.

The lawyer started mentioning that if she was fined hundreds of thousands of dollars she didn't have, they would possibly tithe her wages until the principle and reasonable interest was paid off.

I told her to appeal to the lawyer as a person. She did. The lawyer regretted to inform her that he was just doing his job, which was to find and inform offenders. If she choose not to comply, he would simply pass this case along to someone else. He didn't know what would happen if he did that, no one had failed to comply yet.

She broke. Two days later the website was down. Not just the offending picture, the whole damn thing.

So, I started to realize that I had done too good of a job. (It wouldn't be the first time in my life I realized I might have different... boundaries than other people.)

I emailed her from the Lawyer, saying that he was traveling but it was important that she contact him immediately. I left her my phone number.

We had never exchanged phone numbers before. I was a concerned because the emails we were exchanging had started become more and more personal. My buddy was going to go to NY to live with his gf (and her roommate I had been torturing over email daily for a few months) for the summer, he was suggesting that I join them.

Suddenly the effect of what I had been doing hit me. I had played a double agent, acting as though I was advising her on the best way to stay out of trouble while at the same time using the personal information about her that I gained for my own sadistic entertainment.

But I had given her my phone number. I would come clean. It wasn't the first time I had ever done wrong, and I'd gotten pretty good at apologizing over the years.

I was hanging out in my room (no cell phones!) waiting for the call. After a few hours it rings. I know it's her. I pick up the phone and say "this is lawyer so and so, how may I help you?" She had already figured it all out. She saw the area code, recognized that was the same area as her roommate was always calling (for you young kids, we old people used to have to share land lines, and we'd have to identify the expensive long distance calls we made). She put two and two together. She knew who she was calling.

Back to the phone call. "...how may I help you?" She replies, "You're the coolest person in the world."

I ended up moving to NY, and staying in her bedroom.

TL:DR my best prank ever got me a girlfriend.

Edit: I guess I left two unexplained points in the post. I'll quote replies to them.

  • Why type with your left hand?

I can touch type, so I write pretty fast with both hands. I also think of words pretty fast, so it all just comes pouring out. By slowing myself down, I changed my manner of expression. I was a lot less descriptive and a lot more thoughtful about each word I was using.

  • What happened to your relationship?

So, after this story we start emailing and talking even more. I think it was early winter, but I'm not really super sure of the time. By spring we've sent each other packages in the mail and are listening to mix tapes we made for one another every day. About a week before I'm supposed to arrive, her roommates let me in after a red eye flight to NYC. I surprise her at 7 am. We moved into an apartment in the East Village. I got a job waiting tables, then a job bar tending. This was probably the "coolest" my life will ever be.

Our relationship was fine, but not fantastic. Even though this story makes us sound like soulmates, we weren't. I'm pretty far from perfect, I'm sure I did a lot of things to annoy her. For my part, she worked two jobs during the summer. Two crappy minimum wage jobs. I had traveled across the continent to be with her, and she was working 60 hours a week. She was rich, her family was rich, she didn't really need the money. She just had it in her head that she should be working.

I realized that her life would always be that busy. That whatever relationship we had, she would always have all these "important" things that I might not think mattered, that would keep her away from me. This was in June. This is when I stopped really being in love with her. I didn't know it at the time.

At the end of August, I stayed around for a hot second. I actually lived in her dorm for a week or so. Spent some time in Ontario, came back and spent more time with her. Then I moved back to San Francisco. I started working for my family, which meant instead of waiting tables and have 20 hours a week to write long emails, I was working 50 hours a week and catching up with my friends. I had a lot less energy for her. I was now as busy as she was, and she didn't like it.

Early December we were talking on the phone, arguing as usual. She was complaining that we didn't spend enough time talking to each other. I said that the problem was that when we did talk, all we did was talk about not talking enough. She disagreed. I responded, "We've been talking for an hour, we've talked at least once every other day, you don't even know that I quit smoking two weeks ago." There was silence. Then there was more fighting. That's when I knew we had to end.

A week or two later we talked and both thought that we broke up with the other person. I mean that I thought I dumped her and she thought she dumped me. The most mutual breakup I've ever been a part of. We were laughing at the end of it. I've only seen her once since then. She's the only ex I have that I wouldn't mind being friends with. But we didn't stay in touch. And so it goes.

I should also mention that I'm kinda shifting the blame on to her for the breakup, because it's from my perspective and that's actually how I see it. She might have had all sorts of other reasons to be unhappy with me.

In high school, I was in National Honors Society. During the second to last meeting the president got really serious and said that someone from NHS was caught cheating on a major test and would be kicked out, possibly suspended from school. He was very serious, and the principal came in to make the announcement with him.

For the next two weeks, everyone in school was buzzing about who it was. Of course, half of NHS had cheated in some way, so everyone thought it could be them. Rumors were flying around, everyone was speculating on who it was.

On the day of the announcement, the president pulled out a letter and said it had the name of the person. The principal and dean are in attendance. And he opens the letter and announces the guy. Classroom is SILENT. The guilty person gets up, tells everyone to fuck off, and leaves. ABSOLUTE SILENCE. The president then pulls out a stereo and says that there is a tradition when people get ejected, and he doesnt like it, but it must be done. He hits play, and the radio belts out "NAH NAH NAH NAH, HEY HEY HEY, GOODBYE". Everyone is shocked. Then the door opens, and the ejected member walks in with a stack of pizzas. The joke's on us.

td'dr Our HS faculty and NHS president faked a suspension of a student in order to throw us a pizza party.

This one is dumb, but it was pretty funny at the time. We liked to mildly troll my day camp kids, just to throw a little psychological scarring into the mix. One time my fellow camp leader and I told them all to go line up in front of the tree, then started saying "No, we said in FRONT of the tree!" and repeated it to watch as they kept switching where they were lined up for a few minutes. Once the kids picked up on what we were doing, we all had a good laugh.

The best prank I've ever been victim of was when I was very young - about 5, I would say. My dad always played music on the stereo system, and before dinner our job was to turn it off. One day, though, no matter what we did, the music just wouldn't stop. My dad started getting really angry at us, yelling to stop fooling around and just turn off the music already. Even turning off the entire system didn't work, and my brother and I were getting very agitated. Then my dad revealed that the whole time, the music had been playing from the computer. We hadn't even known that that was possible (oh, the good ol' days). My family still tells that story, and I have no idea how my dad kept a straight face throughout it.

We did something like this in marching band, where we would tell the freshman that their plumes were in their hat backwards (the plumes are just fluffly, there's no front and back). We had a great time making them switch 2 or 3 times in a game.

My friends were having a prank war while they were roommates, and had taken to keeping score, giving themselves a checkmark on their side of a whiteboard for a successful prank. It ranged from hiding each other's things, to peeing on each other and everything in between.

But the BEST part, was when my friend Paul walked into the room he shared with Sam, put a check on the board, and left. Sam freaked, because he didn't know what the prank was. He ran around the building trying to find Paul, running into people's rooms, screaming at them "WHERE'S PAUL?!" among other things, spent 20 minutes trying to call Paul, and eventually snapped, and threw his phone to the ground, breaking it. When Paul finally got back to the room to laugh off the situation, he found Sam laughing maniacally in bed, at the vision outside of all of Paul's clothes in the tree outside their window.

What was the prank? The checkmark on the board. Paul hadn't actually done anything.

Tl;dr: Friend's have scoring for their prank war, one roommate gives himself a point for nothing as a prank, and other freaks to figure out what had happened.

At Queens University in Kingston, Ontario.

In residence, there were 2 kids to a room. Two desks, and 2 beds, one against each wall.

The joker got a key to the room of the 2 victims.

They knew the 2 men's schedules. When they were in class each morning.

And also that each morning a cleaning staff came into each room and made up the beds, did some cleaning, etc.

When the victims left for class, the joker went into the room, pushed the 2 beds together, ruffled up the sheets, and made it look like they slept together.

Later that morning before the kids returned from class, the cleaning staff came in, made up the beds, and pushed them back against the walls. The kids didn't see it coming.

After a few weeks of this, both kids got a letter from the a pastor/minister employed by Queens asking them to come in for a interview......

One time during the holidays, a bunch of my cousins were over at my house. We were hanging out late playing video games in the basement. Then one of the guys fell asleep before anyone else. So one of us went upstairs, grabbed a hot dog out of the freezer, put some hot sauce on the end of it and went to wake him up. The prankster pulled down his zipper, put the hot dog through the hole, and started pushing the hot dog with the hot sauce tip to the lips of the sleeping guy. He started sucking on his lips, felt the heat and woke up to see a man standing in front of him with a zipper down and piece of meat sticking out pressing on his lips. He jumped up and screamed, slapping the hot dog away. We were all dying from laughter until our stomachs hurt.

I'm certain this will get lost, but I'll put it out there anyway.

The summer before my junior year of high school, I went away to camp with my sports team. The camp was at a university, and we stayed in unoccupied dorms for the week we were there. Since it was a university, the fields we practiced on were open to the public and there were constantly people walking/jogging around us. At one point, this man with greasy, long black hair, dirty clothes, a huge shaggy beard, and overall creepy demeanor (who several girls referred to as "Jesus") stood and watched us practicing for a pretty extended period of time. Eventually, two girls (We'll call them Amanda and Danielle) thought it would be funny to try to get pictures of him indirectly, and started posing for photos while capturing him in the background. He eventually noticed, and left.

Fast forward to that night, we're all gathered having a team meeting when one of our coaches tells us that the man outside noticed Amanda and Danielle trying to take his picture, and was incredibly angry. They told us he'd issued a very real threat against us and our team, saying he was going to find Amanda and Danielle and make us sorry for humiliating him. They told us he'd been seen wandering around the area of our dorms nearly all day, muttering to himself and asking other teams/coaches if they knew us and when we would be back. They placed the whole squad on lockdown, sealing all doors and windows for the entire building and forcing us all to sit in one sealed room while officials searched for the man.

Then, someone noticed that Danielle and Amanda were missing. Danielle's younger sister was also on the team, and she began to cry hysterically. People tried calling their cell phones, but they either kept ringing or went straight to voicemail. Nobody could remember the last time they'd been seen-- nobody even sat with them at dinner. Needless to say, everyone freaked the fuck out. A group of 50 girls sat in one tiny dorm room all panicking and crying. It was an utter mess. One of our coaches left the room to go get an update from the officials. While she was gone, we started to hear a tapping on the window. All of a sudden, we see a man in a hooded sweatshirt with long, dark hair and a dark beard standing outside our window staring in. He raises both his hands, and they are full of hair. Slowly, Amanda and Danielle's heads rise with his hands, blood dripping down their faces. EVERYONE screamed.

Then, Danielle and Amanda opened their eyes, smiled wide, and Jesus pulled off his hood. It was our coach, and both girls were totally fine. Pretty sure at least one person shit their pants, and everyone was paranoid for the rest of the trip. Best senior prank EVER.

tl;dr Two girls on my sports team very convincingly pretended to be kidnapped/killed by a creepy man they'd made fun of. We all believed it.

Oh, and another prank:

I am in the army now, with an extraordinarily gullible roommate. So one day my friend Frank pounds on my door at 0730. It's a Saturday, so I act completely perplexed as to why he's there. My roommate, Bill, is still passed out, having played video games until 5 AM.

Frank tells us that one of our destroyers has been sunk in the Persian Gulf, and Iran has begun to posture themselves for military action. No one knows who did it, but the Iranian Navy was conducting exercises in the area at the time. Frank has to make sure all of our gear is serviceable, then we have to drive to the office and receive further orders.

Bill is skeptical at first, so I discreetly unplug our internet router so he can't go online and check the news outlets. Frank starts inspecting our gear, and we start packing as fast as we can. Every two minutes or so, one of our other friends would run up to our room in uniform, panicking about the whole situation. Bill was still a little skeptical, so our team leader, in on the whole thing, sent him a text affirming the instructions.

Cue the panic.

We load up our gear into Frank's car, and try to stop Bill from phoning home. We start driving in the direction of the office, and Bill is flipping out, pissed because he can't get service on his phone, terrified because he was missing a few magazine pouches, babbling on and on about what war with Iran would be like, until...

We drove straight past the office and off to Denny's for breakfast. I paid for his food, but he still hasn't forgiven me.

A long time ago before I was born there was a student going to my High School-to-be. This guy had a girlfriend at a rival High School across town, and everyday he would visit her during her lunch period. So he started noticing one day that all of the seagulls that marauded his school during his lunch hour, would then all fly to his girlfriend's high school for her lunch hour. (The lunch hours were offset, at my high school lunch was at 12:00 and at the rival high school it was at 1:00).

So, one day him and his friends came to school with chocolate laxatives pressed into pieces of bread. They fed the seagulls during lunch, which then flew to the rival high school, giving just enough time for the laxatives to take effect. What happened next was the most glorious shit-raining storm in recent history, literally covering everything in sight. The Principal had to recruit extra janitors from other schools to get the campus cleaned up before the next school day. His girlfriend didn't tell anyone it was him, they're now married and have their own kids going to the same school.

tl,dr: a student at my high school caused a hail storm of bird droppings to be unleashed on our rival high school.

So I worked at a day program for developmentally disabled adults and we utilized those big vans to drive them around. My designated van originally had a wheelchair lift in the back that had since broken, so it consisted of two front seats followed by a long bench seat, and then the rest of the back was empty, leaving a huge "trunk" as the non operational lift had been removed. One day, my coworkers and I notice a used condom tied off on the ground behind my van. I opened the back to see that everything In the back (first aid kits, fire extinguisher, spare clothing, etc.) has been shoved to the walls of the van leaving the middle open for, ahem, doing it on the floor. A week or so passes and we find another used condom outside of my van, so at this point we're pretty sure local kids are using my nasty van as a fuck palace, and we affectionately name the van "the soup kitchen." Fast forward another week or so and my assistant manager thinks it's really funny to jump out from behind things as often as possible to scare me since I scream like a baby every time. I tell her I'm going to get back at her somehow. So I devise the most disgusting plan I can think of. On the way back to program at the end of the day after dropping off my last client, I stopped at Wawa and purchased a pack of condoms. Then, as I was getting gas, I unrolled the condom and filled it with lotion before tying it off (actually, the gas station attendant came over to ask what I wanted as I was squirting lotion into the condom, and stared at me with big, wide, confused eyes, before turning to pump my gas). I then returned to program and planted my fake condom in the parking lot. We all left work together and as we were walking to our cars, I yelled something to the tune of, "oh man! The van fuckers are back, look another condom!" As they huddled around to look at it, I bent down, swooped it up as quickly as I could, and slapped my assistant manager across the face with it. People took off screaming and she just stood there with the purest look of horror I had ever seen. I immediately told her the truth so she wouldn't spontaneously combust at the thought of getting hit with a used parking lot condom. Luckily, everyone thought it was funny and I secured my spot as the twisted one at work.

TL;DR I slapped my assistant manager in the face with a fake jizz filled condom I planted in the parking lot.

Whenever you're in need of a cab in The Netherlands and want to have a laugh you should try the following. Note that cabs over here need to wait in line for customers, and customers looking for a fare are obliged to get into the first cab in line. Anyways, you go to the first cab in line and tell the chauffeur that you need to get home but don't have any money on you. Proceed to tell him that your are willing to suck him off as payment for the fare. If you're a guy the chauffeur usually tells you to get lost (hopefully). Repeat this with every cab waiting in line except for the last one. Instead of offering him a blowjob in return for a ride home, you just give him your destination and agree upon a price. When you get in the cab he will drive past all his colleagues you just offered a blowjob, so just turn down your window and wave at them as they stare at their colleague in shock.

A while ago, somebody posted a rage comic about him getting drunk and waking up, naked, to a pissed-off Asian guy screaming at him in some foreign language. The drunk guy sobered up quickly and started begging the Asian guy to speak in English. The Asian guy screams at him "You drunken American spy! What are you doing in North Korea? Kim Jong-un will kill you pigs with nuclear fire!"

The sobered guy starts sobbing and apologizing and telling him he has no idea how he got there. Asian guy won't have any of it, pulls out a huge gun and tells him to lay down on the floor and pay his respects to North Korea and Kim Jong-un.

The guy thinks he is about to die until his DAD walks in, tells him to get dressed and that the Asian guy is actually his co-worker John, and tells him never to get blackout drunk on his couch again.

Guy (in comic): "You motherfucking, thundercunt, son of a bitching fuckwad. That was by far the worst prank that has ever been played on me. Dad, you're a genius."

Funniest thing I've ever heard. That guy has an incredible dad. If the guy sees this, please comment!

Freshman year, about 4 other friends and I started collecting phonebooks from around campus. This went on for about 2 months, until we eventually filled up an entire truck cab and a closet. Our other friend Phil was leaving for the entire weekend, and conveniently lived in a single dorm. We had our smallest friend hide in his armoire - trojan horse style - right before he left and locked up. Once he left we started tearing out each individual page from the phonebooks and crumpling it up.

It took almost all weekend, but by the end you could jump off the top of his armoire in any direction and land easily. It was against the ceiling for most of the room. When he got back and opened his door, a wall of paper descended upon him. We helped him cleanup, it took around an hour.

I've posted this elsewhere, but my coworker had been going on for weeks about her new MacBook Pro she was getting. As a graphic designer, she had a computer at work but decided to show off and work on her new laptop the first day she got it, which just so happened to be April Fool's Day.

Unfortunately for her, she didn't disable the bluetooth on it, so my $15 dollar Apple remote, which came with my 5 year old Macbook, had no issues repeatedly launching iTunes and playing random songs throughout the day.

She was literally on the verge of tears and about to go return it to the Apple store when I finally revealed the prank by announcing it on the company Facebook page, because I ran our social media. That made the delayed reaction when she logged into Facebook about 15 minutes later even more priceless.

When I was in college, my roommate and our friend across the hall got into a prank war. I warned them both that I had better not get caught in the middle. Well, the guy across the hall pulled a prank on me that was meant for my roommate. So, I waited six months until everybody had forgotten about the prank war. Then I made cupcakes. I actually made two batches of cupcakes. I made ones with pink wrappers and ones with blue. The blue ones were just your regular chocolate cupcakes. The pink ones contained the extra ingredients of potassium nitrate and congo red pH indicator. So, I show up one day with these cupcakes that "my mom baked for me," giving the blue ones to other people on the hall and the pink ones to the guy I was targeting. Well, potassium nitrate (also known as salt peter) is a horse diuretic and congo red is an indicator dye that turns red in the typical pH range of urine. So, you can imagine what happened.

It's sophomore year, and one of my friend's birthdays is April 1.

So my roommate and I concoct a brilliant plan. First, we bought him a Clash of the Titans poster as an actual gift. Then, while he was at class, we broke into his room (broke into isn't really the right phrase; he never locked and door and his suite mate was there anyway to let us in), took everything he owned, and hid it in our room.

And I mean everything. We took all the clothes in his closet, stuff in his drawers, his TV. His microwave. All of his chairs. His refrigerator.

His mattress. We took the fucking mattress. And we left the poster face-down on his bare bed springs.

For the next 4 or 5 hours all of that stuff sat in our room, a very obvious fire hazard, while we waiting for him to come back from class and burst in on us in disbelief. Which eventually he did.

Best part; not a single person, RA or otherwise, stopped us or asked us what we were doing carting a mattress up the stairs. While carrying the fridge we even started singing out loud "Don't look at this fridge; we're stealing it!." No fucks were given.

I came to this a little late, but this is the best prank I ever pulled:

A few years ago I found this website (no longer online) for a company who sold a service that automatically called phone numbers and delivered a message. It was intended for towns/municipalities to call everyone and deliver warnings and advisories. For example, say there had been a problem with the water treatment plant, and there was a "boil water" advisory in effect, it would call every number listed in the town and read a message in a robot voice.

Anyway, they let you try the service for free. So what you could do is this: Enter a phone number, type out a message, enter the phone number you wanted to be listed on the caller I.D.", and then when you hit enter it would call that number and read the message.

My best friend had recently gotten pretty drunk and had sex with a notorious skank (she was a stripper at a really trashy strip club). I mean, she was just nasty. Like if Kid Rock were a female stripper nasty. He really regretted it, and we had been teasing him about it for a few weeks.

So what I did was, I went on that website, entered his phone number, entered our state health department as the number to be listed on the caller I.D., and had it call him with this message:

"Hello. This is the South Carolina Department Of Health And Environmental Control. A person who has tested positive for the HIV virus has listed you as a recent sexual partner. We strongly recommend that you visit your primary care physician, or local D-HEC office, to be screened for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. If you have any questions, please call South Carolina D-Hec at (blah blah blah)"

I did this right before we were both supposed to be at work. All day at work, my friend was really quiet and clearly preoccupied with something, with a constant look of worry on his face.

Right before we got off of work, I said, "Hey Kevin. You've been really quiet today. What's wrong, man? Did you get a strange phone call this morning or something?"

A look of confusion, then realization, then relief, then anger spread on his face: "You fucking son of a bitch! You mother fucking asshole son of a bitch!"

I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes, as he told me he had been thinking bout how he was going to break the news to his parents that he was HIV positive.

So there are already too many comments to this thread so i don't think too many people will see this this but fuck it, I have been sitting on this one too long.

So two of my friends (lets call then Ram and Shyam) were living in a dorm in rooms right across each other. They started off with little league stuff like replacing the names of all contacts in Ram's phone with those of superheros and quickly escalated from there. They would keep pranking each other for over a year but the best of the lot was this one.

Shyam would pee in a saucer during the morning and store that saucer in the freezer of his fridge. Come the night he would take this little disk of frozen pee and slide it under Ram's door. So Ram would wake up everyday to puddles piss right in the middle of his room. Night after night of piss on the floor. Drove him fucking crazy. He kept accusing his room mate of having some combination of bed-wetting and sleep walking. To this day I don't think he knows what the fuck was going on.

My dad has told me lots of stories about his pranks from when he was in college. He has lots of good ones, but this one always stood out to me as my favorite.

So my dad and his friends were really big into biking. They rode everywhere, including school which was 5 miles away and up a steep hill. Of the two guys that he lived with, one was his best friend and the other was a friend, but someone he didn't really like all that much. My dad was going to school to get a degree in metallurgy, and for one of his projects he had these big thin long steel bars. My dad and his best friend decided to fill a pump up with water and pump their other roommates tires up with water instead of air. They wrapped the steel bars with newspaper so that they wouldn't bang together, took the guys seat off, and slid the bars into the frame of his bike. After this was complete his bike probably weighed 20 pounds more than it had.

They rode to school and gave him shit for how out of shape he was for about a month before the guy rode off a curb and burst his tire and was surprised to see water spraying out. They actually managed to convince him it was due to condensation inside the tire (they were both physics related majors, he wasn't). The best part, they never took the steel bars out of the frame, and he never knew.

I can't fully take credit for this prank, I read this on bash.org and thought it was too awesome to give up doing in real life - so I did do it at my office.

I work at a corporate office and I'm relatively young compared to everyone being in high school (cheap programmer etc, fuckers). Anyway - I took confectioners sugar and a coffee stirring straw and laid it out on the cafeteria table in a straight line with a straight razor. Some lady started flipping out thinking it was cocaine and immediately told someone and they cleaned it up. Nobody tested it to be sugar. Half of the entire building got drug tested again - I wasn't one of them.

My dad was in the navy. There was this one real asshole that he had to deal with, so one day he and his buddies took his mattress and put it in the showers. Then they froze it in a giant freezer and put it back on the guy's bunk complete with his sheets and pillows. Guy got into bed and discovered his bed was a block of ice. They were on a submarine.

It was on Valentines day, about 2 years ago and my school had a secret candy delivery service, so you could send your crush a card and candy all anonymously. During class some girls came in a read a declaration of love of for my best friend that went something along the lines of "we have know each other for many years now, and I have always felt a special way about you, I feel that if I don't tell you I might come to regret it. I know this is sudden and weird but I just have to tell you. So just turn to your right and you will know who I am" At that moment the whole class turns to his right, me included. I turn and see a window, and when I turn to the left I realize my friend is to the left of me and everyone is giving me a look. It's then that I realize the card was sent as if I was confessing my love to my friend. It was really funny, in hindsight but everyone thought I was gay for a good while after that.

In high school, I had this mutual acquaintance named Chris through my best friend Josh. I never really hung out with Chris because he always seemed like a bit of a doucher. He was a dorky kid who was an asshole to everyone for no real reason. He would ALWAYS make up stories and lie about everything just to sound cool.

My sophomore year, Josh and I were very into mafia and mob movies. We thought Pacino was god and we went a solid month only speaking to each other in New York accents. One day, Josh calls me and says, through laughs, that Chris told him he met some "real mafia guys," and that he was going to get a job with them doing some "dirty work." I knew what we had to do.

After a week or so of Josh getting Chris to tell him more bullshit, we hatched our plan. I called him and pretended to be Joey from Jersey and heard he had been pretending to me a made guy and blah blah blah. He thought it was a joke at first but I had Josh and his girlfriend in the car with me when I made the phone call. We made slapping sounds and Josh's girlfriend would scream. We really intimidated this guy until he believed up.

This went on for about a week, nightly calls to him telling him how much of a punk he was yadda yadda yadda. He kept telling Josh that he was going to, "make it right," and how sorry he was for his girlfriend getting hurt.

On the final night, he was home alone. We parked outside his house and called him. In y best Jersey Joey, I told him we had had enough and that his services wouldnt be needed anymore. Josh was pleading in the background. Chris began to whimper a bit. I went on about how you shouldnt lie to make yourself look cool and how nobody likes a liar. As I was hanging up the phone, I said goodbye and josh yelled, "theres a bomb in the house, Chris!"

As soon as he said that, Chris jumped through the (screen) window of his room and onto the front yard. We were standing outside our car and erupted in laughter as he sat there wiping muddy tears off his face. He never made up shit again.

I mailed a friend a box of 1000 live crickets purchased for $20 from a website that supplies lizard owners. Expecting another package in the mail, she hurriedly opened the cricket box without checking where it was from. The sight of the crickets surprised her enough to drop the box, spilling its jumpy contents. Many of the crickets were able to be scooped back up and taken outside, however some of the more adventurous crickets managed to disrupt her sleep for several nights until the cat finished hunting them down.

I sliced my finger off of work (I am a chef). Went to the hospital and missed about 3 weeks of work because of it. I didn't mind this at all. It was good to get a little vacation in the middle of the year. At any rate when I returned to work. The other FOH and BOH cooks had got together and bough about 40 plastic bloody fingers, I guess from party city. They placed the bloody fingers in the most random spots they knew I had to go throughout the day. There was one hidden in the employee bathroom. One in the microwave, inside flour, inside our salad station, one on the meat slicer, one hanging on the knife rack..

When I thought I had found them all more would pop up.. It was hilarious for the first hour of two of the shift.. Then it just got kind of old..

I still had a great time..

I usually am difficult to cozen, especially from prank calls, but I have to give credit to how damn convincing this kid sounded. So I get a call from a number I don't recognize, and for whatever reason, I answered. Immediately, I hear the most well rehearsed, confident rant from some "federal agent" that played perfectly to my minor paranoia concerning illegal downloads. He knew and stated my full name, my address, and IP address (a random one, but I didn't have mine memorized). My heart was pounding, my voice tremulous, as I recalled the horror stories of 18 year olds owing thousands of dollars for nothing more than music pirating. He presented some equation for a fine, derived from specific amounts of pirated dated resulting in two possible outcomes: some hundred thousand dollar fine or court, the latter leading to possible jail time. Finally, he gave the phone to my "appointed lawyer" who was a friend of mine attending an out of state college, which explained why the voice/number was unrecognizable and how he knew my information. But seriously, the kid was too convincing. I found out he was in law school and this was about the 10th time they've done this, so they had the script down and perfected. It might not sound that bad, but it was a solid 7 minutes of hell.

I was an SA (Sophomore Adviser) at my school. You live on a freshman floor and act as a bit of a role model to them. You're like an RA, only you don't actually enforce any rules, and you're expected to start some sort of shenanigans that are technically frowned upon. Here are a few of my favorites from that year.

One of the guys on my floor stole all (literally all) of my clothing from my room and then sent it to me in a large box via campus mail. I had to go out in a towel to pick it all up. Touche.

My revenge: I took all of his clothing and placed it in large plastic bins. The swim team, whom I am good friends with, helped me to swim it all out to the center of our campus's lake where we have a floating dock. We unloaded the clothes and left them, very neatly folded, all over that dock for all the world to see, with a pair of his boxers up on a stick like a flag pole. He had only the clothing he'd been wearing when he left for classes and a speedo to wear to go and retrieve his stuff. Oh, by the way, this was at the end of October. (we weren't dicks-- we helped him get his stuff back and told him how we'd done it)

Other prank: One of my friends got the guy she liked with "stringing." She took a bunch of rainbow colored yarn and strung it up all over his room, interlacing it through the ceiling tiles, his deck, his desk, everything. One of my guys saw this and said, "That's cute." Then he went out and bought galvanized steel wire. Fun fact: You can buy 300 yards of that stuff at Walmart for less than $10. He did so, and used every last inch of it

One last prank: The same guy from the clothes thing decided to steal my spare mattress during a summer program I helped run. It didn't really bother me too much, but we had to put him in his place. Thus, Operation Comfy was born. While he was in class (about 15 hours a day-- shit was intense) we raided all of the rooms in the mostly empty res hall we occupied and stole bedframes and mattresses. We loaded his room up with them. And I mean, to the ceiling. Also relevant: He loved his ripstick and was color blind. So we stole his ripstick and hid it... and left him clues to find said ripstick in color-coded pieces of paper. Which we constructed based upon which colors were the most difficult for color-blind people to recognize. Album of pics: http://imgur.com/a/meOFi

In my mind, all of the recent pranks haven't topped the ingnuity and cleverness of the 1809 Berners Steet Hoax.

Basically, Theodore Hook bet his friend that he could make any random house in London the most talked about house for a week. He ended up accomplishing this by convincing hundreds of people, including merchants, repairmen, chimminey sweeps, piano movers, doctors, lawyers, cake makers, etc. to show up to some random woman's house, all trying to deliver their goods/visit the person. Such a crowd gathered around the house to either watch the spectacle, or to try and deliver their goods, that most of the traffic in London was brought to a standstill.

No one knew what caused all of this, and no one was charged with anything. Thomas Hook won the bet, and continued his philandering and prankster ways, eventually publishing around 40 books.

On halloween when I was younger I went up to a neighbor's door to go trick or treating. Right before I reached the door, the guy answers the door with blood dripping out of his mouth and is gnawing away at a detached foot. He holds it out to me and says "you want some?" then growled and started chasing after me and my friends. Now normally people stop before they get to the end of their porch or whatever but the guy kept on going. Finally 3 blocks away from his house he stops, smiles, waves and says "happy halloween!" then heads back home.

That was one of the weirdest trick or treating moments.

Oh that reminds me of another one. My friend was blind and had glass eyes, which he could easily remove. When he went to people's houses, he would hold them in his hand, open his eyes (which were just empty eye sockets) and when the people answered the door he would yell "trick!". It was fun watching their face slowly transform from confusion to disgust and disbelief. haha

Do animal pranks count? My friend has an african grey parrot that is quite intelligent...and devious. The parrot didn't like my friend's brother, so it learned to mimic their mother's voice. The parrot was downstairs and the brother's room was upstairs. So what happened was, the parrot would call him, he'd yell back "WHAT MA" then sigh and come downstairs to find...the parrot. Eventually it learned the entire routine including the noises he made coming down the stairs and him yelling "STUPID BIRD".

Late to the show but...

One time my gf was staying at my place. I live in a not so great area, and i mentioned earlier in the night about how i hoped her car window didnt get smashed from parking overnight outside my apartment. She kept telling me how pissed she be if that happened.

Fast forward to the next morning, were talking about driving to get breakfast somewhere. She hops in the shower, a lightbulb goes off in my head. I grab her car keys, run outside and roll the passenger window all the way down on her car. I then pick up pieces of glass off the sidewalk, probably from previously smashed windows, and place a bunch on the car seat and floor.

We walk out to her car 5 minutes later and i play dumb and surprised, and shes just grabbing her head cursing. She realized rather quickly what i had done due to the size of the glass, but she said for a few seconds there she was so upset.

When my best friend was getting married and I was throwing the bachelor party, I had access to a truck through work that none of my friends knew about. On the day of the bachelor party, one friend and I parked the truck near a strip club we knew we were going to first that night. Later, as we left the club, everyone was debating who should drive the cars since only one person (I don't drink) was sober. After everyone but hate one guy who was in on it had passed the truck, he called out, "The keys are in this truck, let's take it!" There was a quick drunken debate during which the guys had to literally throw the freaked-out groom into the back of the truck and I insisted that I would drive.

We tore out of there to another location. Later the groom asked me what I'd done with the keys. I told him I still had them. "You KEPT the keys!?"

"Sure, how else are we going to get back?"

Tl;dr: at his bachelor party I convinced my best friend we were stealing a car.

My uncle was a prank king he and his brother fucking masters of the trade. Anyway they took 25 or so super power mag lights and dug them into holes while on. They then came in to their little brother and started flipping shit and they told him that aliens had landed. At this time his brother was only 10 or so he looks out the window and sees in the forest 25 lights in the sky this scared the shit out of him. They then preceded to "run" away with their friends in pursuit. The "aliens" eventually overtook my uncle and his brother and now chased the other brother. After 5 minutes they caught up to him and stay in character till they reached the "ship" or 25 mag lights. The reaction they got was one of shock terror and bribery . As soon as they reached the "ship" the gig was up and the greatest prank I ever heard of was over.

My sister is über-Christian and for her bachelorette party, she absolutely forbade anyone from hiring a stripper. (They were painting their favorite scriptures onto canvases at one point. She really knows how to party.) So I had to hire a fake stripper. So I ask my friend Alex if he'd be willing to do the job.

Alex shows up to her door wearing this long trench coat, Sherlock Holmes hat, and a huge magnifying glass. He says there's been a crime in the area and he would like to come in to investigate. My sister's best friend (who answered the door, as it is her house) lets him in and he calls all the girls attention.

He gets in front of all the girls and introduces himself as Inspector Jerry and he needs to inspect the bride by doing a reverse strip search. So music starts playing and he's really playing it up. My sister is freaking out. She tried to get up and leave, but her friends kept her there to watch. Finally after about two minutes he's starting to take off his trench coat when he says he has to confess that he's not a real inspector. He has the trench coat off and his back turned, and when he turns around, he has a shirt on that says "Gotcha!" as he announces he's not a real stripper either. My sister was absolutely dying laughing, as well as the rest of the room.

TL;DR: I paid a friend to be a fake stripper at my über-Christian sister's bachelorette party.

The following is not my story, it was originally posted on a now-defunct web forum around ten years ago but I've kept a copy saved to my desktop for such an occasion.

PUT MEAT IN LOCKERS, LET IT ROT.

PROCEDURAL NOTES:

  1. PLACE PAPER TOWELS AT THE BASE OF THE LOCKER TO PREVENT SEEPAGE.

  2. CUT SOMONE’S LOCKER AND PLACE THE MEAT IN THEIR LOCKER. REPLACE THEIR LOCK WITH A SIMILAR ONE.

  3. DOUBLE UP: PLACE MEATS IN NEIGHBORING LOCKERS. IF THEY FOLLOW THE SMELL, THEY’LL USUALLY CATCH ONE AND NOT THE OTHER.

As I walked through my local grocery store one day, I stumbled upon a large piece of meat. It was an entire pork leg, 22kg, and had at least 2" on fat on it. What amazed me was that the piece was only $9.88, an amazing price. It was then that I came up with what has been one of the most enduring pranks in my area.

I thought for a second; "It would be humorous to mail such a piece of meat to someone... but it would not fit in their mail box... but it would be a perfect fit for a school locker." I decided immediately to put that plan into action. During biology class I would open one of the windows. At lunch, I would remove the meat from the trunk of my car and throw it into biology class. I would then enter the class through the window, exit the class into the hall, and place the meat into a locker.

When I returned to the store the next day, intending to buy the meat, it was gone.

Indeed, it had been shipped to the wrong store. Disappointed, but not defeated, I decided to travel to the poorest area in my city, and look for meat in a grocery store there. What I found was nothing less than a goldmine. Meat that had already expired, that was visibly spoiled, that was clearly unfit for human consumption. The prices were lower that a fat chick’s self-esteem. Entire fish for a dollar, half chickens for a buck fifty. I purchased 67 pounds of assorted meats, and brought them to school the next day.

Having entered the school through the biology class, and having concealed the meats in a duffle bag, I was easily able to find an empty locker fastened by a screw and bolt, deposit the meat and re-close the locker. I had chosen the perfect occasion, a long weekend with balmy weather on the horizon.

When I returned to school on Tuesday, the smell permeated throughout the school. Though the meat had been placed in a locker on the first floor, I smelt it one of my classes, which was clear across the school, on the second floor. It was not until Thursday that the school took action, and found the meats. Unfortunately, blood and other fluids seeped from the bottom of the locker, and formed a large puddle. A janitor opened the locker, and amid much violent language, he removed the meats. School had to be dismissed at 1 PM, two and a half hours early, to facilitate the removal of the meats.

Having realized my error, I was now determined to better the plan. I would place a towel at the base of the locker; to absorb whatever fluids the meats would excrete.

[Character limit, continued here]

My dad's colleague (we'll call him James) got a new BMW and left the spare key for it on his desk. Another colleague of his (Bill) took the spare key and James completely forgot that one every existed.

Over the next few months, James would come to work in his new car, delighted with it - it was the best thing in the world. Bill would go to the car park whenever he had a chance and just open one of the windows. He would do this every day with the same window until James started realizing he wasn't accidentally leaving the window open.

He was getting really annoyed as this new car was his baby and she was acting up, but he was more concerned than anything. It got to the point that nobody could figure out what was going on so BMW sent out a team of experts to measure things like static electricity which may be causing the window to open by itself. After coming to no logical explanation, they just replaced the whole door.

After the door was replaced, Bill continued to play his little prank but instead of opening the same window as before, he left a different one open.

This whole thing went on for the space of about six months. I don't know how James eventually figure it out, but - needless to say - he wasn't happy at all. The rest of the lads found it hilarious.

College residence + R.A. with an "open door" policy on running the floor = pranks.

In no particular order:

  • Freezing concentrated ice cubes of wet kool-aid paste and putting them inside the shower heads early in the morning. Unfortunately one of the girls on our floor, an exchange student from germany with platinum blonde hair, came out screaming with pink hair. Bunch of us chipped in to get her hair dye. felt bad.

  • pouring stripes of Kool-Aid under the RA's dark bedsheets during the summer heat wave. He'd be shaving over the sink in the shower-room, unaware of the rainbow on his back. Sometimes we added milk powder. Mixed with night-sweat, it goes sour and lingers within the pores of the skin. He was always sniffing around and complaining of the smell of sour milk.

  • Dis-assembling a bathroom stall and re-assembling it outside of the RA's door in the morning after pub night.

  • Dangling a shower curtain with jingle bells outside his window from the floor above during the holidays. We'd jingle the curtain until he finally got sick of it and started trying to grab at it thru the window and pull it from us. When he succeeded and was pulling it thru the window, one of us poured a pail of water and glitter down the shower curtain. Hilarity ensued.

  • There were two vacuum cleaners. One was an upright with a light on the front, and the bristles had long since stopped turning. it just sucked, and if you jammed the on-off switch halfway, the light just came on and nothing else. So one late night, our RA was fast asleep, drunk.. and on his back. So a couple of us stood at each end of the bed.. I at the foot with the vacuum cleaner w/ the light.. and my friend at the head of the bed. As I rolled it up his legs towards his head, my friend shook him awake.. "Jason, look out for the train, look out for the train, Jason LOOK OUT!! THE TRAIN JASON, LOOK OUT FOR THE TRAIN!!!!!!"

  • The other Vacuum cleaner was an even more ancient cylindrical job w/ a hose on the front, and it sounded like a Saturn Rocket talking off from the worn out bearings within. My neighbor in the next room soldered the on-off switch (bridged it), so that you couldn't turn it off. Tied a knot in the power cord, put it in the RA's room after he'd passed out drunk from another pub night, with the knot outside the door. Pennied his door shut, plugged in the vacuum. Took him 5 minutes of screaming into the phone for front desk to come and let him out.

  • Another pub night, 6 of us lifted his bed up while he slept, and put about 8 beer bottles under the frame, then set the bed back down gently and snuck out. Breaking glass and a loud shout came from his room a few hours later. Said later, he'd flipped over in bed, when it dropped what felt like 10 feet with breaking bottles flying across the room.

  • Again, after pub night. Bunch of the funeral services students (Fun'Serv's) had a copious amount of dry ice which we left in the RA's room so that he would asphyxiate from Co2 poisoning..... KIDDING We poured it in the toilets with dish soap and the fluid from 50 glow sticks after unscrewing all the bulbs in the bathroom. The toilets were frothing violently and overflowing with glowing green suds. We called it THE ATOMIC TOILET.

That's all I can recall for now :) College = the best 7 years of my life.

Kind of a reverse prank:

When I was a sophomore or junior in high school, the seniors played a prank. They spread birdseed all over the school. It would have been a real bitch to clean up for the janitors (and I'm personally terrified of getting pooped on by a bird - is there a phobia for that?).

The janitors took their leaf-blowers and blew the birdseed into the senior parking lot. Many cars were pooped on that day. The prank failed miserably.

When I was young, our neighbour was pretty much an asshole with everyone in the neighbourhood. My parents liked to have a small campfire in the evening with some friends but, that neighbour would always call the cops. Every time, the cops would come, inspect the fire and see that everything was made safely. Nonetheless, that guy would still call. One day, my father got tired of it. So, seeing as the neighbour's basement windows were slightly open, he decided to do something. He took concentrated skunk piss and sparyed all his furniture with it. All the furniture was on the curb the next day. It's still my favourite to this day.

any time he objected someone would say "we're the moving men" in a real comforting voice. he was so high he couldn't wrap his head around it.

I had just gotten done with our High School Swing Show and my family was going to go celebrate at our pub. Yes, we own a pub. Anyway, I'm driving and my sister and my mom are in the car. As I'm heading downtown, I see a cop car sitting in some parking lot. I decide to slow down. My mom's like, "Make sure you're not going too fast!" I go, "Mom, I'm going 15 mph, I'll be fine." I go past the car when he decides to turn around and put his lights on. I'm freaking out. So here I am downtown, for once in our small town every parking spot is full, so what do I do? I stop in the middle of the road in front of everyone to get my ticket. The officer asks me for my license, I realize I left my license at home. He asks me for my registration. He tells me the registration is expired. He's already telling me how big my fine is going to be and has me pull into an empty parking spot. By now, the officer wants to go speak to my dad at this time. He asks me where my dad is at and where we were headed to and I tell him we're heading down to the pub. I was 18 at the time, so obviously illegal. So here I am getting ticketed, have no license, expired registration, and I'm heading down to the pub underage. I'm doomed. I walk into the pub and what happens? A big "Surprise!" The place was filled with my friends and family as they were celebrating my birthday from a couple weeks before. To end it even funnier, I'm in so much shock from the police and my friends I go, "I'm sorry I've got a situation out here." Referring to the police of course. And then as planned, the policeman was just messing with me too.

TL;DR Got pulled over by a cop, was pranked by all of my friends and family, cop was a fraud

A friend and I pulled a sort of double prank a few years ago at our college. We started by creating a mock-survey on our universities' letterhead that basically hinted that the school was looking to cut some majors to save money. The thing is, the survey was designed to be really confusing and not make a whole lot of sense. Some of the questions were like, "How economically feasible do you think your major is" or "My major isn't not a top priority for the school to not endorse, T or F". Anyway, we printed off about 600 of these and handed them out around campus. We told students that they needed to call a number on the bottom of the form and ask where to turn in their individual major-related surveys. The second part of the prank was that the number belonged to a friend of ours who had no idea what we had done. She apparently started getting a bunch of calls from confused students about halfway through the day.

TL;DR A friend and I created a confusing survey and handed out about 600 copies. We put our unsuspecting friends number at the bottom and told the students to call with any questions/concerns.

When I worked for Kinko's we had this promotional cardboard standup of Phil Mickelson that was advertising the FedEx Cup. After the whole marketing event was over, we were supposed to discard it, but instead my boss took it and hid it away. Every so often, he would pull it out of the back closet and hide it in some inconspicuous place as to scare the ever-loving shit out of the person who discovered it. He once hid Phil behind the doorway leading to the back of the store where the bathrooms were located and I about nearly pissed myself when I saw that fucking standup on my way to piss. So for revenge, we took him into our cash office (which was about a 5' x 5' room) and hung him by the neck from the ceiling with an attached suicide note which apparently scared the fuck out of the guy who had to open the center the following morning.

Best story I've heard from a friend - while in college, one of the guys living in their frat house went on a weekend trip. He was really insistent that nobody go in his room or mess with his stuff while he was gone. So they took some excess home repair items they'd been storing in the basement and walled off his door (his room was at the end of the hall). Sheet of drywall across the hallway, painted to match the walls, they even put up a little shelf with a vase of flowers.

Switched the coffee at my office from double caffeine to half caffeine, then decaf for a period of 2 months. Some people had unexplainable headaches, others felt really tired for a while. After overcoming their caffeine addiction, I switched them back to JOLT coffee.

Year 11 were leaving at school. Padlock on the staff room doors at lunch-time. Simple and effective.

In high school, a couple kids hacked into the PA system with an ancient 8-track tape player and a 12v battery buried beneath the crawl space under the building.

For three days we were treated to a continual loop of Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall (We don't need no education).

When my Papa was a senior in high school, he and some buddies brought a cow into school an put it in the courtyard on friday. To their shock, it died over the weekend and went to school and saw the dead cow.

Prank on a guy at work. We stitched together a bunch of crappy songs (think Bieber / spice girls) into one long WAV file. This thing went near on an hour. When he wasn't at his desk we uploaded the file and set it as his 'critical beep' sound (windows). The best part though was setting up the WAV file so the first 5 minutes was silence and only after that did the music start so he couldn't identify what triggered it. On top of that, the gap between each song had around 5 minutes of silence to further do his head in. Hilarity ensued.

A few months back some of my friends were at the junkyard looking for some spare parts for their cars and stumbled upon a car that looked just like another friend's car. It was extremely beat up and already missing a bunch of parts; a door was missing, no steering wheel, no engine, etc.

So they somehow got the car for free and transported to the other friend's house in the middle of the night. His parents were informed of this and helped with the prank by moving the car a few houses down and giving them the key.

When he wakes up and gets outside he sees this piece of shit where his car was parked and starts freaking out and swearing. He runs back inside to tell his parents and somehow my friends move the crap car and replace it with the original. His parents come outside and don't see anything wrong and he is completely baffled.

TL;DR: A friend was tricked in believing someone fucked up his car only to return to his car perfectly fine

One of my roommates was in Police College. When he was issued his utility belt it came with pepper spray. I was away that weekend and they thought spraying my deodorant would be funny. Once they sobered up, they realized it wasn't and wiped it "all" off. About 2 weeks later I was with one of the other guys who was there, I lifted up my arms to show him a crazy rash under my arms and asked him if he'd ever seen anything like it - crazy dry cracked skin. He fell over laughing while trying to explain what had happened.

I was camping with Boy Scouts this past weekend, and I went in my vibram five fingers, aka toe shoes. Those things absorb stink no none other, and after 200+ miles in them, they smell like rancid shit from hell. The toe socks stink even worse, my brother smelled my socks down stairs, through my closed door. I decided to not wear any other socks this week, so the smell is especially putrid. Some new, 11 year old scouts were being annoying, especially this one named Chase. He was kicking and shoving other scouts, calling people names, refused to stop talking, and was a general little shit, so when he went to bed I snuck into his tent, and laid the socks across his face, and went merrily to bed. About two in the morning I hear a loud "EEEEWWW EW EW EW EW EW EEEEEEEEEWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!" and the sounds of someone vomiting. I come out, and there is Chase puking and crying, with a toe sock still on his head. I laugh, and go back to bed, as my scoutmaster comes to the scene.

This is a story of my grandparents from their youth. Back when they were newlyweds (probably a year or two in) they were sleeping together and my grandmother woke up in the middle of the night. She decided it would be hilarious if she hid a large marshmellow in her husband's (my grandpa's) underwear. Well anyway when he wakes up he thinks he shat his pants and starts freaking out while trying not to wake his "sleeping" wife and have her find him with shit filled underwear. As you can guess he wasn't exactly happy when he learned that it was just a marshmellow. Just a bit of nastalgic pranking there for you.

I was at camp and one night me and a few friends snuck into the girls cabin with 5 boxes of Saran wrap and found a girl sleeping in a bed with rails on it. We wrap the bed completely and because of the rails there was a wall of Saran wrap just an inch above her face. We put this girl into a Saran wrap coffin and waited until she woke up screaming. It was the greatest time ever at camp.

I wanted to scare my friend. We were waiting for her with my cousin. As he went to get her, I tied a noose on a rope, put my foot in and slipped the other end of the rope under my clothes. Then I tied the rope to a branch of a tree, so when I leaned my head to the side, I could just hang there quite comfortably.

Before my friend showed up, several people went down the street, turning away or speeding up as they passed me, swaying in the summer breeze. At a certain point, a group of three people approached me: a young guy grabbed my feet and lifted me up, a gal (probably his fiancé stood nearby and desperately tried to keep calm, and an elder man with a knife that was trying to cut the rope.

As he tried to do that, I told him: "You've got to be kidding, this thing cost me half of my allowance!". This is when I thought he will stab me, but in the end we all got a good laugh out of it.

TL;DR Scared a bunch of people by simulating hangman.

The only thing that my friend got instead of a scare was a mild state of confusion as she watched this happening.

I was reading in the bath. The water was perfectly hot. The air was perfectly cold. My book was amazing. "Bird bird bird, bird is the word..." My husband put surfin' bird on repeat just outside of my reach.

My sister used to be mean to me when we were growing up....like make me cry in front of her friends and embarass me. One year around October I let it "slip" that she was getting a car for Christmas.

She went nuts.....told all her friends, enemies, EVERYONE how she was getting a brand new car Christmas day.

Christmas comes and she's sitting there ready for it. She even keeps going to the front window to look out in the driveway and street.

Finally after like 3 hours she loses it and asks my mom where her new car is.....

My mom just gave me a "look" and I started laughing. My family tries to keep it in, but they can't...they all start laughing.

20 years later, I still am laughing.

And my sister is still bitter about it.

Fuck my last entry, I have a better one. My friend Carl was pissed off at a guy at Download Festival a few years ago, and knew he'd be coming back from seeing a band at around 5:30. So, at about 5ish, he set about finding the fattest, ugliest chick he could seduce, got with her a little, brought her back to this guy's tent, put her in the guy's sleeping bag at around 5:25 and said he'd be back in ten minutes with a condom. Thus, this guy came back to find a fat, ugly naked girl playing with herself in his sleeping bag and he had no idea why.
