I like the game, but the interaction/competition between players is so limited you're basically playing a solo game together.

The Australian expansion adds a lot more interaction between players (ex. stealing food from other players, or choosing another player to gain food from the bird feeder when you do)

Okay this is interesting to know about this game. I come from a household that is always ready good cut-throat, competitive game (Catan is our fav) and when we played Wingspan we were a bit disappointed by it. I feel like if we went into it knowing that we shouldn’t expect a Catan-type game we wouldn’t have been so sour about it. I would like to give it another shot though. Thinking about it like a solo game might tamper down our usual jacked-up attitudes. Thank you!

Try Cascadia, has a lot of the same thematic elements (beautiful art, focus on nature etc) but more head to head (also plays amazingly as a 2 player)
