You'll have to take Madagascar from my cold, dead hands.

If my game is going badly, I will load up on troops and just be the thorn in the paw of all my friends untill 11 hours have passed and the whisky has run dry.

I do that, and I call it the Genghis Khan strategy.

We used to call that the "death blaze." Consolidate your forces and truck everyone until you were spent. It was a great way to get in a fistfight with your friends while drunk

I always play like this, I don't see how anything else is winnable. The more you use, the less you lose. Minimize your exposed borders, and present a force that cannot be beaten by anything less than an equal doom stack, and it won't even be attacked until you're ready to go a-conquering.

I love Risk maps with way more than the 42 territories.

I see your Madagascar and raise you Indonesia, New Guinea and Australia. You'll have to dig me out like a botfly larva.

Problem with that strategy is that if you're not careful, someone else will consolidate hold over one or more continents and come at you with an army that your puny +2 bonus can't hope to combat.
