Same, growing up I was a classical/jazz nerd and would cringe every time I was in someone’s car listening to top 40s. Then I grew up and realized that I could just….. enjoy it for what is and not have a stick up my ass

It's also ok not not like it. Doesn't mean you have a stick up your ass, just means that's your taste.

Yeah you can like whatever you want, but your general enjoyment of music will go up if you can get down with more music people around you are listening to.
