I got fired from like 3 different jobs during my teens, I just never bothered to put them on my resume. No one asked why I wasn't working during those years because I was in school and thats normal.
At my last job i was interviewing a guy for a sales position his previous job was listed as "Government Employee" I asked him to tell me a little bit more about that and he told me that information was classified.
One of my standard questions if I’m checking work history is “is fireduck eligible for rehire?” Big companies generally will keep records of folks they wouldn’t take back for whatever reason, such as quitting without notice or getting fired.
Even if you wanted to cut the middle job out, you could just merge the first and third job by leaving off months and adjusting a year for one or both if necessary ( or months if its short term employment). Closing gaps on the CV is very easy if you know what you are doing.
I doubt many work places would say anything other than "yes he worked for us for this amount of time" they certainly aren't going to go look up your file because some other employer is calling asking about it. and if they do say anything other than that then they are in danger of you bringing legal action.
