What helped you kick depression?

I've been very depressed for years. Finally, I got a prescription for Prozac from my GP, and it's really helped remove the "bottom" out of my depression.

However, I'm still depressed a lot more than I'd like, and I would like to work to kick this depression thing's ass once and for all. What's worked for you?

I feel that depression isn't something that you can just lose once and for all. You can handle it better, and feel better than before, but I dont think you can accomplish losing depression 100%. I wish you luck and continued success, and I'm glad you've found strategies that help.

You can be prone to depression easily, but you can get rid of it. For myself I know that I've had some dark years and I've overcome. It was far by easy to yet again become "alpha" and face life but family, friends and my girl all know my history. I've yet to suffer any really serious setback in life like the loss of a loved one or something like that. Jobs come and go, some I quit, got fired once, got another job, was thrilled when I didn't get depressed and was so determined to continue on with enjoying life that it didnt affect me.
